My name is David, I have been providing clients with private tours of Scotland since early 2016. I am hugely passionate about Scotland and was born in a small town called Hamilton, just east of Glasgow although I have stayed in Paisley (Scotland's largest town) since 1992. I am extremely fortunate that in 2016 I was able to change my career and become a driver / guide, my dream job. I drive a very comfortable Mercedes Benz People Carrier which can easily seat up to six guests. My vehicle is equipped with free Wi-Fi, a small refrigerator and a good selection of complementary soft drinks and snacks. I appreciate my clients might only have a short time to spend in Scotland and I will do my utmost to ensure I meet their requirements; I am totally flexible in my approach and happy to make last minute changes to the itinerary if for example the weather was unkind on the day of the tour. I offer Day Trips from Glasgow and Greenock Cruise Terminal, to Loch Lomond, Inveraray, Oban (Scotland's seafood capital) Glencoe, Stirling, The Kelpies and the Falkirk Wheel. However, do feel free to get in touch if you have a specific requirement to visit a particular place and I will do my very best to accommodate you. Every tour I offer can be amended to meet my client's specific requirements. It's extremely important to me that I don't just provide "standard" tours, I like to engage with my customers and plan every tour around their specific needs and requirements. I have full Public Liability insurance and Chauffeur Insurance (mandatory in the UK) On request I can provide child car seats and also a portable step to assist any clients with mobility issues. Covid-19 Vaccinations - I am fully vaccinated as per the Scottish Government guidance. The rates quoted for all my tours exclude any entry fees that you may incur during the tour. We provide free refreshments but meals are excluded from the published rates.

Overview of your Glasgow tour

Glasgow is my home town and the home of some of Scotland's best cultural attractions and I have had the please of guiding guests around my beautiful country for the last 9 years. As a child my father would regularly take me around the most famous sights in Glasgow, it didn't matter if it was good weather or bad, I always enjoyed seeing Glasgow. I can tailor this tour to meet your specific requirements, my suggested itineray would be to head early to Stirling Castle (entry fee applies) to beat the crowds, then head to the Kelpies (free entry) and The Falkirlk Wheel (free entry). On the way back depending on time, either quick sightseeing tour encompassing most of Glasgow's major attractions or alternatively we can select a few stops relative to your particular interests. My Mercedes Benz V Class offers guests an elevated view idea for taking pictures and seeing the beautiful Scottish scenery.

David is a wonderful and very professional tour guide. Our first trip to Scotland and he gave us not only so much history but also his personal insights, culture of the area, great local food and drink choices and wonderful sightseeing. He was prompt in pick up and return, professional and very personable. It was a great tour!

David is the ultimate Glaswegian. He gave us such a great tour. He was very sensitive to our requests. He spent a lot of time answering our questions. He took us to a wonderful local pub with 1000 malt whiskies, dark beers and great pies. He reintroduced some of us to Haggis. We saw the engineering wonder-the Falkirk wheel. The Kelpies, Stirling Castle, the city hall in Glasgow-second largest amount of marble next to the Cistine chapel. All of these done with such clear descriptions of the history.

We took a tour with David on June 19, 2025. He was fabulous. Strirling castle. The Falkirk wheel. Kelpies. Hairy coos. All the things we asked for. He met us at the port in traditional Scottish attire. There were snacks and water in the van and he regaled is with stories whenever we were driving. He is immensely knowledgeable. He told us he couldn't promise we would see the cows, but we were able to pet multiple lil coos and had an amazing day! Highly recommend.

David was absolutely fantastic. He was extremely knowledgeable about all things Scotland. Combining his terrific personality, great knowledge of history and sites, immaculate vehicle, thoughtful touches (likes umbrellas, water, snacks, easy pick up/drop offs, etc), makes him the best tour guide in all of Glasgow! All 6 of us US visitors feel like we made a new Scottish friend! Thx David.

David was awesome! He ensured our time at Stirling castle, the battlefields and the Falkirk Wheel were enjoyable and engaged the whole family. He has a vast knowledge and was super easy to talk with. He adjusted the tour to help us find some ancestor sites while still allowing more than enough time at the key locations for the tour. David’s love for Scotland was evident throughout the day! I absolutely would tour with him again and highly recommend his tours.

Your Glasgow tour itinerary

Collection from your hotel or cruise ship, we would then head for Stirling Castle early to beat the crowds, then onto The Kelpies and The Falkirk Wheel before heading back to Glasgow. Depending on time available we would take in a variety of tourists attractions the famous Finnieston Crane and the 2021 COP26 venue and the Clydeside distillery. The Riverside Museum, which reflects the important part Glasgow has played in the world through its contributions to heavy industries like shipbuilding, train manufacturing and engineering. Free entry. Kelvin Grove Art Gallery, explore 22 galleries and discover everything from art to animals, Ancient Egypt to Charles Rennie Mackintosh and onto the world famous Glasgow University. Glasgow Cathedral, an awe-inspiring building dedicated St Mungo, it was built in the 1100s. If you would prefer to spend longer at a particular location, this can be arranged, no problem, the itinerary is totally flexible.
