Hello, my name is Andy and I'm a passionate and experienced tour guide based in Glasgow, Scotland. I have been running my own Scottish tour business since 2007. I specialise in bespoke Scottish tours of 1 - 3 days duration covering all areas of Scotland. I am currently enrolled on the prestigious Scottish Tourist Guide Association, Blue Badge Programme 2023-2025. I give my clients fun and memorable tours, and a truly unique experience of Scotland. You can only get an authentic and unique tour experience like this with someone who has a knowledge and passion for Scotland like I do. I am an outdoors enthusiast as well as a hill-walker, and a student of our rich Scottish history and culture. I have travelled extensively through Scotland and so I have a great wealth of knowledge to draw on when creating tours for my clients. This allows me to create tours which include breathtaking scenery and must see attractions, as well as hidden gem locations, and "off the beaten path" destinations. My tours include historic Scotland, city tours of Glasgow and Edinburgh, whisky distillery tours, film location tours and iconic scenery tours of the west coast and highlands. Thanks for looking at my profile. All my tours can be customized upon request. - Fully insured with public liability and chauffeur insurance. - First aid trained. I am not a licensed guide and will not be able to guide you inside of the historical monuments.

Overview of your Glasgow tour

Leaving Glasgow or Greenock port we travel north to Stirling Castle. The Castle is a great symbol of the Scottish wars of independence and a source of national pride. Learn about famous figures from Scotland's past such as William Wallace, Mary Queen of Scots and Robert The Bruce.  The renaissance palace within the castle itself was built for King James V and his second queen, Mary of Guise. It is one of the most remarkable and complete Renaissance buildings in Britain. Your can choose a self guided audio tour of the castle or to join one of the regular guide led tours from the castle entrance. From Stirling Castle we can see clearly our next stop which is the towering Wallace Monument. Built to commemorate the leadership of Wallace, the magnificent tower is 67m high with 276 steps inside and 3 interactive galleries. The views form the top are stunning. Our last stop is Bannockburn Battlefield where we learn about Robert the Bruce and the famous battle of 1314 which changed Scotland's history for ever.

We are so greatful Andrew McCluskey was our tour guide for a day in the Highlands of Scotland. From the moment we connected with Andy he graciously collaborated with us to create a day of optimum Highland experiences to satisfy our interests. Andy is professional, timely, gracious and knowledgeable. We walked the paths of Luss on Loch Lomond, had tea and cakes at Balquiddor, cruised Loch Katrine on the Steamship Sir Walter Scott, explored Duone Castle and returned to Glasgow with great memories!

What an absolutely lovely day with Andy. We traveled in a well maintained and comfortable van. Andy was a very smooth and safe driver who paced our requested itinerary very well. We visited the Falkirk wheel, Stirling Castle, Wallace Monument, had a lovely tea and stopped by the Kelpies (my favorite), never feeling rushed. It was a a fabulous day - Andy answered all our questions , taught some history and shared much on Scottish customs and lifestyle. I would highly recommend a day with Andy.
