My name is David, I have been providing clients with private tours of Scotland since early 2016. I am hugely passionate about Scotland and was born in a small town called Hamilton, just east of Glasgow although I have stayed in Paisley (Scotland's largest town) since 1992. I am extremely fortunate that in 2016 I was able to change my career and become a driver / guide, my dream job. I drive a very comfortable Mercedes Benz People Carrier which can easily seat up to six guests. My vehicle is equipped with free Wi-Fi, a small refrigerator and a good selection of complementary soft drinks and snacks. I appreciate my clients might only have a short time to spend in Scotland and I will do my utmost to ensure I meet their requirements; I am totally flexible in my approach and happy to make last minute changes to the itinerary if for example the weather was unkind on the day of the tour. I offer Day Trips from Glasgow and Greenock Cruise Terminal, to Loch Lomond, Inveraray, Oban (Scotland's seafood capital) Glencoe, Stirling, The Kelpies and the Falkirk Wheel. However, do feel free to get in touch if you have a specific requirement to visit a particular place and I will do my very best to accommodate you. Every tour I offer can be amended to meet my client's specific requirements. It's extremely important to me that I don't just provide "standard" tours, I like to engage with my customers and plan every tour around their specific needs and requirements. I have full Public Liability insurance and Chauffeur Insurance (mandatory in the UK) On request I can provide child car seats and also a portable step to assist any clients with mobility issues. Covid-19 Vaccinations - I am fully vaccinated as per the Scottish Government guidance. The rates quoted for all my tours exclude any entry fees that you may incur during the tour. We provide free refreshments but meals are excluded from the published rates.

Overview of your Glasgow tour

Glasgow is my home town and the home of some of Scotland's best cultural attractions and best of all, many of them are free to enter! As a child my father would regularly take me around the most famous sights in Glasgow, it didn't matter if it was good weather or bad, we just spent more time inside some of the fantastic building if the weather was poor. Alternatively if the weather was good, I got the opportunity to appreciate the amazing outdoor attractions. We can tailor this tour to meet your specific requirements, either quick sightseeing tour encompassing most of Glasgow's major attractions or alternatively we can select a few stops relative to your particular interests before heading to Loch Lomond and spending some time on the "bonnie banks" taking in the historic village of Luss. My Mercedes Benz V Class offers guests an elevated view idea for taking pictures and seeing the beautiful Scottish scenery.

We had an outstanding day with David and would recommend him without hesitation. From the moment he arrived, it was obvious that he takes great pride in what he does. He looked very professional in his kilt and traditional accessories, had snacks and water waiting for us in the vehicle, and immediately made everyone feel welcome. David was engaging, personable, and extremely knowledgeable. Throughout the day he explained the history and background of every place we visited, along with interesting stories that made the experience much more meaningful. He clearly loves Scotland and genuinely enjoys being a guide. Our day included Stirling Castle, Loch Lomond and the beautiful village of Luss, the Kelpies, the Falkirk Wheel, and a stop near Greenock Harbour at the impressive sculpture honoring the shipyard workers and riveters. We had noticed the sculpture that morning and asked if we could stop on the way back, and David remembered and made sure we did. David also looked ahead at the Falkirk Wheel schedule and timed our visit so that we would be there when boats were being lifted on the wheel. It was wonderful to see this impressive engineering feat in action, and his thoughtful planning made the experience even more memorable. One especially memorable stop was Luss. David knew people connected with the village church and had even called ahead because he was unsure whether it would be open on Saturday. The church was open, and two lovely ladies inside were welcoming visitors with cookies. Because of David’s local connection, we were also invited to go upstairs and see the area where the Laird traditionally sat during services. It was one of those unexpected experiences that made the day feel very special. David also arranged a lovely lunch for our group, calling ahead for reservations and helping us understand unfamiliar Scottish menu items. Another highlight was a Scotch whisky tasting he had thoughtfully prepared, complete with glasses and several different whiskies for us to sample. He took photographs of our group throughout the day with his own phone and later sent me a link so we could download them. One member of our group has mobility limitations, and David was extremely considerate about getting us as close as possible to every attraction and minimizing unnecessary walking. We were able to see everything we had hoped to see, even though the tour ultimately ran about an hour longer than planned. David never made us feel rushed and even made an extra stop at an ATM for me. He stayed with us and guided us personally at nearly every stop rather than simply dropping us off. David was professional, knowledgeable, accommodating, thoughtful, and simply a pleasure to spend the day with. It is obvious that he truly enjoys being a tour guide, and that enthusiasm comes through in everything he does. We had a wonderful and very memorable day in Scotland and cannot recommend him highly enough.

Greatest day of travel, saw and experienced Glasgow like a local. Ate lunch at a local public with locals playing music. Ate Haggis Bon Bon, Cullen Skink, and Beefsteak pie . Saw all the sights in and out of city. Great friendly and informative conversation. Could not imagine a better day. We will remember this day forevermore. Thank you David
