We had an outstanding day with David and would recommend him without hesitation. From the moment he arrived, it was obvious that he takes great pride in what he does. He looked very professional in his kilt and traditional accessories, had snacks and water waiting for us in the vehicle, and immediately made everyone feel welcome. David was engaging, personable, and extremely knowledgeable. Throughout the day he explained the history and background of every place we visited, along with interesting stories that made the experience much more meaningful. He clearly loves Scotland and genuinely enjoys being a guide. Our day included Stirling Castle, Loch Lomond and the beautiful village of Luss, the Kelpies, the Falkirk Wheel, and a stop near Greenock Harbour at the impressive sculpture honoring the shipyard workers and riveters. We had noticed the sculpture that morning and asked if we could stop on the way back, and David remembered and made sure we did. David also looked ahead at the Falkirk Wheel schedule and timed our visit so that we would be there when boats were being lifted on the wheel. It was wonderful to see this impressive engineering feat in action, and his thoughtful planning made the experience even more memorable. One especially memorable stop was Luss. David knew people connected with the village church and had even called ahead because he was unsure whether it would be open on Saturday. The church was open, and two lovely ladies inside were welcoming visitors with cookies. Because of David’s local connection, we were also invited to go upstairs and see the area where the Laird traditionally sat during services. It was one of those unexpected experiences that made the day feel very special. David also arranged a lovely lunch for our group, calling ahead for reservations and helping us understand unfamiliar Scottish menu items. Another highlight was a Scotch whisky tasting he had thoughtfully prepared, complete with glasses and several different whiskies for us to sample. He took photographs of our group throughout the day with his own phone and later sent me a link so we could download them. One member of our group has mobility limitations, and David was extremely considerate about getting us as close as possible to every attraction and minimizing unnecessary walking. We were able to see everything we had hoped to see, even though the tour ultimately ran about an hour longer than planned. David never made us feel rushed and even made an extra stop at an ATM for me. He stayed with us and guided us personally at nearly every stop rather than simply dropping us off. David was professional, knowledgeable, accommodating, thoughtful, and simply a pleasure to spend the day with. It is obvious that he truly enjoys being a tour guide, and that enthusiasm comes through in everything he does. We had a wonderful and very memorable day in Scotland and cannot recommend him highly enough.
