Hello, my name is Andy and I have recently set up my company to pass on my vast experience as a freelance tour guide. Since my youth I have been an outdoor enthusiast having climbed almost every mountain in Scotland and hiked most of our great long distance trails. I have been to every corner of this amazing country and learned all about our very turbulent history as I went. I have driven, cycled and camped all over the Highlands, Islands, Central belt and the Lowlands creating unforgettable memories and phenomenal stories which I like to pass on to my guests. This gives me the edge as a guide, you never know a place until you meet the locals - let me pass on many a story passed down from the colourful characters I have met on my travels and I may even introduce you to a few. You don't have to walk far to come across an ancient Castle, battlefield or stunning scenery in this country. From Mountains and Glens and Waterfalls to dramatic Lochs, I have uncovered so many hidden gems allowing me to put together the best tour possible for your group and you. I will make sure you have an unforgettable experience on your visit to my country by picking from any of the tours I have put together in the booking section, or by emailing myself directly detailing exactly what you would like to see for a bespoke tour which Is something I also offer. Whether you want to walk a lot or see Scotland from the Roadside - I will ensure I cater the best bespoke tour for you and your groups needs and wants. Before tours - Before I became a guide I worked in the front line as a Youth worker within the Care system for Scotland's most vulnerable and at risk young people. After graduating from University as a PE teacher, I wanted to give something back by initially working for one of the UK's leading charities in residential care for young people as a teacher before becoming a Youth Worker at the same charity - allowing me to work more directly and help young people to turn their lives around. I worked here for 12 years and participated in a lot of fundraising events which saw me undertake crazy challenges including completing the West Highland Way and the UK's highest mountain all in under 24 hours. I am a huge advocate for helping people, and giving something back. I am light on reviews as I have only just started using Tours by locals - I have amazing reviews on other platforms however not to breach Tours by Locals Terms I can not provide a link. Thank you for taking the time to read my bio - and I hope to take you on an unforgettable tour sometime soon. All the very best Andy Thanks Andy
