Even before we booked this tour I knew it was right for us. Ian was vey responsive, suggested the walk/drive tour which worked out perfectly for us. We kept in contact prior to arriving in Scotland (we based ourselves in Edinburgh) and in the days before the tour. Ian met us at the train station and from the start we connected, learning and laughing along the way. Sometimes the unplanned adds to the journey and meeting up with a gentleman selling Celtic scarfs proved that to be true. After the walking portion we took the tube to his car to explore beyond the city center. Great conversations, Ian made sure we visited our “go to” spots, plus much more. We’ve always enjoyed our Tours by Locals guides, I must say Ian earned more than 5 stars with us. Well done Ian, if we’re lucky, our paths will cross again!

I didn't like the tours of Glasgow that the cruise ship had so I went with ole reliable Tours by Locals and I selected Iain to be our tour guide. Iain met us at the pier and we had an excellent tour. He was fun to be around and he gave a great history lesson. The ride on the subway was a nice added touch and the cathedral was very lovely. I am SO GLAD I booked Iain to be our guide versus taking the cruise ship tour.
Iain was a fabulous guide. Huge, delightful personality and made every effort to engage with us. We really enjoyed his humour. Iain made a real effort to find out what our interests were and then spent the day (a walking tour in the morning, driving tour further afield in the afternoon) ensuring those interests and more were fulfilled. Nothing was too much trouble, we really felt we saw the Glasgow that we wanted to see and more. We felt we dug deep into the heart and soul of Glasgow in just one day.
