A day tour exploring beautiful South Ayrshire and learning about the life and times of Robert Burns, Scotlands National Poet. His poems and songs are known the world over Among them " Auld Lang Syne "; the 2nd most popular song in the English language after Happy Birthday. " Ae fond kiss "; is an enduring love song and "Scots Whae Hae" which is often referred to as the unofficial Scottish national anthem. Among the highlights will be a visit to the Burns Museum in Alloway, The Auld Kirk, and Brig o' Doon as described in the exciting, hilarious, and scary Tam o' Shanter. This tour is a labour of love for me. Since my schooldays when Burns's work was always part of the curriculum I've had a strong interest in the man, his life, and his work. On the way south towards the Heads of Ayr and Turnberry enjoy the breathtaking coastal views. Dunure, with its castle ruins and harbour is an Outlander location. Culzean Castle and Country Park is our destination. If you're a Downton Abbey fan you will love it
