Glasgow and I have a lot in common - just like the city, I'm forever inspired by the people I meet and I don't take myself too seriously! I may not have been born in Glasgow, but after 10 years here it certainly feels like home. I graduated from Glasgow University with an MA in History and English Language. I love history because it is everywhere - in our landscapes, our architecture, our culture. To understand history is to understand ourselves! Scotland is a beautiful country, but with so much to explore, Glasgow can sometimes be overlooked. It's my job to show you exactly why it shouldn't be! Whether you're looking for a long wander through the city or lots of stops to our local museums, breweries, and eateries, I'd love to show you around. Looking after our planet is something that's really important to me. If you're interested, I'd love to make our time together as sustainable as it can be - without missing out on any of the fun, of course! I am not a licensed guide and cannot guide you once inside historical buildings (e.g. Glasgow Cathedral have their own guides). I cannot offer pick-up/drop off via car, but am happy to recommend public transport or arrange a taxi service.

Scotland may be famous for its whisky, but Glasgow is making a name for itself as the home of some fantastic beer. On this tour, we'll explore the history of Glasgow through some of its most interesting spots and stop along the way to enjoy a taste of what the local breweries have to offer. We'll start at Glasgow Cathedral and Necropolis, where we'll discuss Glasgow's religious past and present. From there, we'll walk down to the Drygate Brewery to sample some of their local beers and enjoy lunch. After a restful lunch stop, we will take part in the Tennents Brewery tour. Tennents is an infamous staple of local pubs - not a beer to be missed! From there, we'll walk down Glasgow's medieval High Street towards Glasgow Green. There, we can explore the People's Palace Museum before having our final drink at West Brewery. This tour is customizable, so please get in touch to discuss how we can make it work best for your trip. I'd be happy to cater for any needs or particular interests you have!
This walking tour takes around 6 hours. This includes plenty of time for lunch and at each local brewery. We'll never need to walk for more than 10 minutes at a time. Usually, the day looks like this: · 9. 30 - 10am: Meet and walk to Glasgow Cathedral · 10am: Explore Glasgow Cathedral and Necropolis · Walk to Drygate Brewery for lunch and first half-pint · 1pm: Tennents Brewery tour · 2. 30pm: Explore Glasgow Green, the People's Palace Museum and other nearby points of interest such as Doulton Fountain and the Templeton Carpet Factory · 4. 30pm our final half-pint at West Brewery The hours stated here are just a reference point, we can adapt it to suit your schedule! The tour can also be made longer with additional stops. This would include more historical sites, a stop at a local pub, and dinner recommendations for local restaurants. I'd be happy to find a plan that works best for you!
