Hello! My name is Amber and I look forward to sharing my passion of my city, Glasgow with you. I am a proud Glaswegian and was born and grew up here, only leaving to do my undergraduate degree in Social Work at the University of Edinburgh for 4 years. After I finished University, I went travelling which is of course one of my biggest passions in life. I later invited a friend I had made abroad to come stay with me so I could show her around Scotland. It was then this friend said to me 'well Amber, if you love working with people, you love travelling and you clearly have a real love for showing people around where you come from, why don't you combine all your interests and become a tour guide?' This was a real eureka moment for me and so from that moment on I have been working as a tour guide showing travelers around Scotland and have been loving every moment of it! I have particular interests in Glasgow's history, particularly it's social history and the lives of the people who lived here over the centuries- after all our city's slogan isn't 'People Make Glasgow' for nothing, along with the city's culture, architecture and thriving music and art scene. In my free time you can find me foraging, wild swimming or listening to Scottish folk music at a local bar. What I would like to emphasise is my private tours are all about customising the tour to you and your interests, this is YOUR tour and I want to make it the best experience for you. If you have something you would particularly like to see, or just a vague idea of the kind of tour you would like to experience, get in touch and we will work together to come up with an itinerary that works for you. I very much look forward to meeting you! I have a BA (Honours) degree in Social Work from the University of Edinburgh. I am not a driver. However, I am more than happy to accompany you in your vehicle.

Come and explore the highlights of Glasgow's leafy West End with me on a half day, fully customizable private walking tour. The West End of Glasgow is one of the most vibrant areas of the city, famous for impressive Victorian architecture, quirky cobbled backstreets and green spaces. This area is known for its relaxed, bohemian vibe, so you shall find no shortage of vintage boutiques, cosy cafés and trendy bars here. This is the area of Glasgow which I am proud to call home now and I look forward to sharing it with you! I moved here at the beginning of 2022 to be closer to all my favourite bars, cafes and walks in the city. Due to this, I can share true insider tips, such as where the locals hang out if this is something you would be keen on finding out. Let me know! The following itinerary could also include Great Western Road with vintage shops, a quirky local bookshop and my favourite tea house in the city if this is of interest to you.
This tour can be made longer or shorter depending on your needs and preferences. Starting times are also flexible, however I don't recommend starting later than 1. 30pm in the Winter months due to daylight hours. I shall meet you either outside Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum, or at your hotel and then travel to the West End together. Suggested Itinerary: -Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum -Kelvingrove Park -Glasgow University -Ashton Lane -Byres Road -Glasgow Botanic Gardens -Walk along the River Kelvin Walkway to a subway station which can take you back to the City Centre This itinerary is only a suggestion and I am very happy to customize it towards your own interests. Tour start times are set based on Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum opening hours, however should you wish for an earlier start time, we can do our route reversely.
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
We shall get around the West End by walking. If you are staying in the city centre and wish for me to meet you in the lobby of your hotel then we shall get the subway together to the West End.
Airport: ,Cruise: ,ByGuide: I recommend we start our tour outside Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. Google Map coordinates: https://goo.gl/maps/JWY8QoUxQhzSUfj17 If you would prefer, I can meet you from the subway, train station or your hotel to travel together to the West End to begin our tour.
