Hello, I'm Ben. I was born and bred in Glasgow and have always been fascinated with the city’s history. It’s a city that is vastly underrated and I just love opening people’s eyes to its story and its beauty. I studied acting and worked as a professional actor for many years, learning the art of storytelling and performance, a vital attribute for tour guides, I strive to make my tours not only informative but engaging as well. After bringing the curtain down on my acting career I took up tour guiding, blending the skills I learned as an actor with my passion and interest in Scotland's history and culture. I've been guiding since 2017, driving mini buses for a Scottish tour company while studying with the Scottish Tourist Guide Association. In 2020 I graduated as Blue Badge Guide, and left the tour company behind and began working for myself. Graduating during the pandemic wasn’t ideal so I turned to online guiding during that period, building a creator account on TikTok, which currently has over 17,000 followers, telling the stories of Glasgow and its people; my true passion. Since then I have been guiding all over Scotland once again, but nothing excites me more than guiding in Glasgow. It is vibrant, full of history and cutlure, and it's my home. The best city in world! So, allow me to take you through this wonderful city, tell you its stories, and show you its secrets and see the things you might otherwise miss on your own. I’m sure by the end you’ll love Glasgow as much as I do and you'll take home the fondest memories and be desperate to come and see us again!

Take a stroll with me through Glasgow’s history, from its 6th Century origins through its gruesome and glorious past. Learn about St. Mungo, Glasgow’s patron saint and how he established Glasgow on the banks of the Molendinar Burn Then wander down High Street, marvelling at wonderful murals, hearing stories of universities and prisons, scientists and criminals. Learn about the City's rise through trade and commerce, then heavy industry, becoming known as "The Second City of The Empire". See the Merchant City, with its mix of Georgian and Victorian buildings including the stunning City Chambers on George Sq. Then travel to Glasgow's West End. There, learn about the Victorian expansion of the city, visiting its leafy parks, trendy streets and the neo gothic University of Glasgow. I grew up in this fantastic city, its story is in my soul. It is a living, breathing Scottish city, but we'll scratch under the surface, revealing its stories and secrets. I might even show you where I was born!

This is a walking tour with Glasgow's Subway being used to visit the west end. A moderate level of fitness is required. One section of the tour is uphill. Please wear comfortable shoes and always prepare for the unpredictable Glasgow weather (we often have 4 seasons in one day!)

In the centre of George Square is a tall stone column with a statue on top. I will meet you there to begin the tour.
