When I arrived in Scotland from France more than 10 years ago, I immediately fell in love with this beautiful country. And when you fall in love, how can you not share everything about your wonderful new home?! I am passionate about the hidden history and legends of Scotland. About how people lived from Kings to peasants. About the tales whispered in the Royal Courts and the taverns in town. I want to share with you the history and culture of Scotland through stories. Not boring long list of dates but engaging local tales. Who do you think invented the bagpipes for example?... If you guessed the Egyptians, you’re right! As far back as 400BC they were played around the Mediterranean Sea and it is likely the Romans who brought it up North to Scotland! You’ll have to wait until the 1500s for the “piob mhor” (Great Pipes) to be fully played and adopted by Highlanders in battle. The instrument was even considered a “Scottish weapon of war” – after the battle of Culloden, if you were found playing the Pipes you risked being hanged! I offer tours in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Stirling, and across Scotland. All my tours can be customized upon request. I love history, ghost stories, food tours (do you know what the Scottish equivalent to a Coca Cola is by the way?), Harry Potter and Sherlock Holmes (because yes, Conan Doyle was Scottish!). I speak both English & French.

I love Glasgow, its secret Victorian streets shaped by its industrial past, its modern street art and its motto which truly encapsulates the city: "People Make Glasgow"! For those who don't have long in town, I'd love to share with you all the highlights of the city! We'll start by visiting St Mungo’s Cathedral and its necropolis. With foundations dating back all the way to the 6th century, St Mungo’s cathedral soars above the skyline. From delicately carved wooden ceilings to a chaotic history at the heart of the Scottish religious Reformation, this church is truly a must see. We’ll head towards George Square where we’ll admire both street art and neo-classical architecture, and learn how slavery funded it all. We’ll then hop in the historic subway towards the beautiful Kelvingrove Museum to discover its paintings. After a lovely walk in the gardens, we’ll be able to visit the arches of Glasgow University. We’ll then finish the day in pure Glasgow fashion: with a drink in the bustling Ashton Lane!
Tour Highlights: - Glasgow Cathedral & Necropolis - Provand's Lordship (if open) - George Square - Street art (murals by Smug and other artists) - Buchanan Street & St Enoch - Glasgow subway - the third-oldest underground metro system in the world after London & Budapest - Kelvingrove Museum Highlights with paintings by the Glasgow Boys and Charles Rennie Mackintosh - Kelvingrove Park - Glasgow University - Ashton Lane and university neighbourhood
