Hello, my name is Iain and I'm here to help make your visit to Scotland memorable. A proud Scotsman I have a keen interest in my nations History and Culture. I have a BA degree . Major in Scots History and I have been involved in the Scottish Whisky and Golf industry most of my business career. So all bases are covered. Allow me to be your host for at least some of your time in what many consider to be the most beautiful country in the world. Whether you choose to sit back and relax as I drive you around our towns, cities and places of interest or accompany me on a city walking tour, I will do my utmost to give you an enjoyable experience. I've been sharing my love of Scotland with visitors from all parts of the world since 2018. It's a job I love and suits my outgoing, friendly personality. I'll share my knowledge of all things Scots in an entertaining, educational manner. My tours are varied in their contents and I am always open to my clients suggestions and requests. Glasgow is Scotlands biggest city and it has lots to offer visitors. The Ayrshire Coast is quite a contrast yet so close. In our day together I guarantee there is something for everyone to enjoy. Glasgow's social , economic and political history . It's architecture , museums , shopping and people. A mini tour walking and driving through the city followed by a change in scenery and atmosphere as we make the short journey to Ayrshire. Birthplace of Scotlands most famous son Robert Burns. Medieval Castles , beautiful Gardens and scenery to make you feel glad to be alive. Your Guide is a friendly , outgoing local with an academic background in Scots History and a career in Golf and Whisky in his CV. If you want to get a taste of West Scotland culture in one day this is the Tour for you.
Places we will visit depend on your interests . If you enjoy History I'd recommend we visit The Peoples Palace , The Riverside Museum , Kelvingrove Art Gallery . Architecture ? The life and works of Charles Rennie Mackintosh and his wife Margaret are not to be missed at Kelvingrove . Well worth a visit is The Rennie Mackintosh house at The Hunterian Art Gallery. Retail Therapy ? Glasgow has the best shops in Scotland . Pubs and Restaurants ? Something for everyone. Whisky ? Clydeside Distillery will enlighten you on how The Water of Life is made and highlight Glasgows role in exporting it to the World. After you get a feel for Scotlands largest city we'll take a short drive to Ayrshire. Alloway is the birthplace of Scotlands most famous son. Robert Burns. An award winning interactive Museum , The18th Century cottage where Burns was born , Auld Alloway Kirk as featured in probably his most famous work Tam O'Shanter. Dumfries House & Gardens . Culzean Castle The Heads of Ayr coastal drive.
