I was born in Madrid in 1973, living all my life in this wonderful, magical and historical city. Discovering the Renaissance creation of the most powerful King of the Habsburg Dynasty: Philip II. On the time of the Hispanic Empire, when they dominated the half-world, Philip the Second decided to fulfill the willing of his father the Emperor Charles V, and commissioned to build this complex which involves not only a Monastery but also a Palace, a Catholic School, a Church, beautiful gardens, a Royal Pantheon and the most important Library of the XVI century. During 21 years Philip II called for the most acclaimed and well-known artists in Europe to decorated and beautify this historical building that has been preserved perfectly throughout the centuries to glorify the Spanish Habsburg Family. After de Civil War, the regime of Franco decided to build a monumental area where all those who were fallen during the civil war could be remembered throughtout the time.
-Depart from Madrid in a private car -45 minutes roadway will lead us to San Lorenzo de El Escorial -Visit the Monastery and surroundings (approx. 2hrs) -Depart to Valle de Los Caidos (15 min) -Visit de monumental area and the Basilica (approx. 1hr) -Back to Madrid.
