Overview of your Barcelona tour
Montserrat, the Natural Park is a multi-peaked mountain shaped by the wind and rain and that is where it's name comes from, as it looks like a saw, the serrated mountain. Almost to the top we find Santa Maria de Montserrat, the monastery, Catalonia's most important religious retreat. Inside the Basilica we can see the astonishing stained glass and the Virgin of Montserrat "La Moreneta" (the black virgin), is Catalonia's Virgin. This tour allows us to take a the Funicular of Sant Joan even further up the Mountain, then we will hike down towards Sant Miquel Cross with its panoramic view of the religious retreat and then back to the base where we started to see the Basilica. For those who doesn't like heights or hike, there is the possibility to visit Museum of Montserrat instead. To then go to hear the Choirboys.
Your Barcelona tour itinerary
-Montserrat is about one hour drive, where we will see all the growing towns on Barcelona's outskirts, where many Barcelonians have move to live. -Once we reach the bottom of the mountain we will drive from the back to the front, to see a great scenery drive of the Mountain. -When we reach the Parking, we will walk to one of the best bird point views of the region about 750 meter (3000 ft) high from the sea side level and and overall look of the area, then we will pass by a local stores where you can sample local food like cheese. -Take the Funicular of Sant Joan and go further up, for great views and hike down the mountain passing by the Cross of Sant Miquel and reach the starting point of the Funicular. -We will then visit the Monastery, the Basilica and Choirboys, if performing and tickets availability.
