Tarragona Half Day Trip from Barcelona (6H)

This is a trip in time to discover romans and its culture: more than 2200 years ago Romans founded the first roman city in the Iberian Peninsula (today Spain and Portugal). They called this city: "Tarraco". Tarraco became the most magnificent city out of the Italian Peninsula, even the emperor moved the capital from Rome to Tarraco for a couple of years because of a Civil War in Rome. If Tarraco was so gorgeous, you can imagine how many evidences of the Roman culture they left and we can visit In our journey from Barcelona we will stop at the Roman stone quarry, to see how many tons of stone they used to build such a big city; and at the Roman Aqueduct (in a favorable conservation status) Once in town we will visit the Roman walls, the Forum Provinciales, the Roman Circus, the Amphitheatre, the museum and the Gothic Cathedral To complete our tour we can't miss the Roman Arch of Triumph, which is located out of town Optional: we can stop for lunch and walk around Sitges, a lovely coastal town

In our trip to Tarragona, which is an hour driving time away from Barcelona, we will see the vineyards and speak about the cava and local wines; dry fruits and local agriculture.
