Overview of your Barcelona tour
This is a six hour tour that will bring you to discover el Penedès wine country, Catalonia's leading wine and cava producing area. El Penedès lays in a privileged geographical location on a plateau near the sea protected by mountains. A truly beautiful Catalan countryside landscape dotted with farmhouses and wineries, or cellars, set among vines. Wine-growing is carried out at over 300 wineries. On this tour I will bring you to visit two of my favourite wineries, selected over 300 different ones, where you will get a very local insight of this wine region. First we will get to a small familly-owned winery that have been pioneers in organically farmed wines since 1978. We will continue to the next winery which has some of the most beautiful modernist Cavas buildings as well as some of the most exclusive cava of the region. On both wineries we will enjoy a guided visit to the cellar, learn about wine and cava elaboration process and taste three wines from their range of white, red and sparkling wines.
Your Barcelona tour itinerary
-After 45 minutes drive on a AC Minivan, we will reach El Penedès wine country. -El Penedès is one of the oldest wine-making regions in Europe, world-famous for producing wines of exceptional quality, and specially for being the place where cava is produced. -We will start de tour visiting a small familly-owned organic winery where we will enjoy a guided visit to the cellar and learn about their history and the wine & cava elaboration process. -We will taste three wines from their range of white, red and sparkling wines. -We will have it with some catalan snacks. -We will continue to the second winery, where we will learn about the history of several generations of winemakers, and we will explore this amazing property with beautiful modernist cava buildings. -And of course we will also taste their wines and cava.
