Overview of your Barcelona tour
This day tour will bring you to La Garrotxa county the best example of volcanic terrain on the Iberian Peninsula combining unique natural landscapes and beautifully preserved medieval towns. On this tour I will bring you to discover some of my favourite spots of this beautiful land. We will start the day visiting Besalú, the best preserved medieval town in Catalonia that will make you travel back in time. As we walk on Besalu cobbed streets and visit the town's highlights you will learn about its amazing medieval history and I will explain some of the local legends. After visiting Besalú you will see the dramatic views of Castellfollit de la Roca a picturesque town hanging on a cliff top at the meeting point of two rivers. We will continue to Rupit, one of Catalunya’s hidden gems, a medieval town with a unique athmosphere located at the hearth of the Catalonian countryside. During the tour you will have free time for lunch. If you want I can book a local restaurant for you.
Your Barcelona tour itinerary
- After about one and a half hour drive on a AC Minivan, we will arrive at La Garrotxa county. - We will start the day visiting Besalú, the best preserved medieval town in the country. - We will visit town highlights such as the medieval bridge, Sant Pere basilica, the medieval hospital and the city walls - We will learn about the amazing medieval history that took place on this county as well as some local legends - We will continue with an scenic view of Castellfollit de la Roca, a medieval town dramatically perched on top of a cliffside. - We will contoinue to Rupit, where you will have free time for lunch ( I can book a local restaurant for you). - Affter lunch we will visit this beautiful medieval village located at the hearth of the Catalonian countryside.
