Ponta Delgada Half-Day City Tour

Andre gave us an excellent tour. He met us in the terminal with my name on the sheet and gave us a welcome greeting. The tour started with walking the city at a slow pace and he did a great job in explaining the history of the islands and the history of all the building that we passed. After walking around the city for about 2 and a half hours visiting all the primary sites we got in his very new Ford 8 passenger van and visited the pottery factory and the pineapple center. He explained in detail all the processes and led the tour in both locations. Then he dropped most of us off back at the ship and a couple in town. I would go with him again if we are back in this port.

Andre provided our group of four the most excellent shore excursion/tour we have ever experienced, so much better than any cruise ship-arranged tours available in the Azores. He was so knowledgeable about his homeland there in Ponta Delgada, and he easily communicated so much of the history of the island nation to us during the tour. It was so enjoyable and interesting to all!

An excellent tour, our guide Andreas spoke perfect English and was extremely knowledgeable. We were a group of 8 with some elderly and disabled participants, so he was very patient and took his time, which was appreciated by all.
