Furnas Valley Full-Day Tour with a Local

This was our second tour with Gabriele. I can't recommend him enough. If you are planning a trip to the Azores, my wife and I both highly recommend booking with Gabriele. He grew up on the island, knows so much about the history, the geology, the plants and fauna and where to go to get the best views and photos. Definitely will book again when we come back

We had a awesome time with Gabriele C. on his "Furnas Valley Full-Day Tour with a Local" yesterday! He is exceptionally knowledgeable and passionate about the Azores, a great combination for a Tour Guide! He is also an excellent storyteller with a great sense of humor. At our request, he organized the perfect Cozido das Furnas lunch for us. One of our group even got to help pull one of the food pots up from the ground! Despite the fact that this was my third time in Ponta Delgada, Gabriele introduced me to new places, and provided lots of new information. He made it a perfect day!

Gabrielle was a fantastic tour guide! As someone who grew up in the area, he had lots of insights to the history and hidden charms of Ponta Delgada. He spoke very good English and was very personable. We toured all over the area in his very roomy car. I have limited mobility so I use a walker. Gabrielle was very attentive to my limitations and adjusted the tour to accommodate me. He would load and unload my walker at every stop! My personal valet of sorts! He encouraged me to push my limits so I could see as much as possible. One such site was at the calderas. He led us around on a hidden path to see the best of the steaming effects of the volcano. This was something I did not know even existed in the Azores. Then we enjoyed a delicious local meal cooked by steam from the volcano, and local wine to quench our thirst. Gabrielle was the best! We will definitely tour with him again!

Can’t imagine a better tour, especially given the time constraints of a cruise. Really didn’t know what to expect from the Azores and I was pleasantly surprised. Can’t wait to go back and spend some more time. I would definitely book with Gabriel again.

Gabriele gave us a magnificent, personalized tour of the Furnas Valley. The all-day tour was non-stop and yet relaxed. Gabriele is charming, kind, and very generous with his time. The authentic lunch of Cozido das Furnas and wine was the icing on the cake. We highly recommend this tour.
