I was born and raised in São Miguel island, and lived all my life in the Azores archipelago and trully am proud of being an "islander". With a deep knowledge of São Miguel's culture, history, traditions and general information, but also the Azores Islands in general. Even if in different areas, not only as a Tour Guide, I've worked in the tourism industry for over 10 years. In 2019 I was invited, by my former Highschool, to be a Juri Member for that year's "Rural and Environmental Tourism Professional" class' final presentation/exam. I can offer my tours in 5 languages. My hobbies include photography and traveling, therefore my goal is always to be the kind of guide I like to have on my own travels. Our tour guide, André, was excellent! He was born and raised here, so he knows the island like the back of his hand We had André as our tour guide for two full days He took us all over his beautiful island. He’s an extremely good driver who follow the speed limits and took his time during the thick fog up in the mountains He has excellent English and knows a lot about the US. The best parts for me where the places he took us for lunch and when we visited his hometown where he grew up and his parents still live. We had authentic Asurion food with the locals from the town. We all know André, and really like him. Everyone shook his hand and have his back and greeted him with big smiles. It was fun to see where he grew up and the stories he told us of his adventures as a young teenage boy with his friends He took us to the botanical garden and the thermal pools and the hot springs.

Had a wonderful tour with André. He was fun, engaging, very knowledgeable, easy going, and customized tour with our particular cruise boat timing. We had a great time learning so much about the beautiful Azores and see so many great sites. The lunch spot he had lined up was terrific and it is so nice being with a true local. Transportation was a very modern van (still has new car smell) and very comfortable.

Andre was the best. We had such a great time. He knows his stuff and is most personable. The flow of the schedule was just right and flexible so we could see as much as possible on the day we had off the ship. The van he used was very comfortable and he used a microphone in the van so all could hear which often doesn't happen. We hope to return and will be contacting Andre without question.

Your Ponta Delgada tour itinerary
After being picked up directly at your door step, the tour begins by heading to the Gorreana tea plantations, which is the oldest tea plantation in Europe. After that, we head to Furnas to explore the valley, take a dip in the hot springs and connect with nature. For lunch, we try the famous "Cozido das Furnas", a dish of mixed meats and vegetables cooked underground using volcanic heat. Next, we visit the stunning Furnas lagoon, before heading off to Vila Franca do Campo to get a view of the world-famous Vila Franca Islet. The itinerary is flexible, for any changes please let me know.
