Overview of your Ponta Delgada tour
Did you know the Northeast has very different highlights? The Northeast doesn't have lakes and hot springs, but has fantastic waterfalls! And has the fantastic high panoramic view points! The views offer wonderful pictures so get your camera ready or just enjoy the image in your head and create unique memories, it's a land of poets. It is the oldest part of the Island, where the first house is settle along with the first church. This tour finishes in Povoação village which is where the first community on the island settle, so it is actually where all started! Northeast is the farthest place of the São Miguel island, it is where we can find the highest mountain of the island with rare and endangered birds. On this tour you will feel the culture, traditional gastronomy and the history of the settlement of this island. I have never been to the Azores, so had a little trepidation about this new adventure. Jorge was amazing! He is the guy for the tour of this region. I have traveled to Europe before and would say he was in the top 1% of whom I would say are the best ever. He was so accommodating, never rushing, yet took us to places not even mentioned in the guide books. Our group's focus was the Northeast region of San Miguel. It is no wonder the Azores are considered the Hawaii of Europe. Book early as he is the guide!

What a beautiful island Sao Miguel is, and Jorge was an excellent guide in showing us the island. We had a great day exploring and learning all about the eastern side of the island. Jorge is an excellent driver as well and I feel that we saw places a lot of people don't get to.
