My name is Rui and I am a Sao Miguel Island native. I love meeting people from other countries and making their visit to the Azores one they will never forget. The Furnas Valley is very known by it's volcanic activity. You can find there bubbling fumaroles of mud and water, 22 thermal springs waters all with different tastes and the smell of sulphur doesn't let you forget you are inside a volcano crater. In Furnas there is a Botanical Garden with almost 2500 trees in 30 acres and a natural hot water thermal swimming pool.
Rui was a great guide. We learned a lot about the Furnas region and the Azores in general. We left feeling that we had a very good understanding of what makes the area so special. Rui was also very accommodating to our requests.

Wow, Rui is just amazing and has such a lovely demeanor! We were on a genealogy trip & he did a personalized tour for us around the areas where they used to live. For lunch he took us to the best fish restaurant I've ever eaten at, right on the ocean. After I left the island, my sister-n-law booked him for a 2nd day to tour the island. She thoroughly enjoyed it and his knowledge of the island. Rui is simply wonderful and I highly recommend him! There is no need to look any further, trust me book with Rui!
