I was born and raised in São Miguel island, and lived all my life in the Azores archipelago and trully am proud of being an "islander". With a deep knowledge of São Miguel's culture, history, traditions and general information, but also the Azores Islands in general. Even if in different areas, not only as a Tour Guide, I've worked in the tourism industry for over 10 years. In 2019 I was invited, by my former Highschool, to be a Juri Member for that year's "Rural and Environmental Tourism Professional" class' final presentation/exam. I can offer my tours in 5 languages. My hobbies include photography and traveling, therefore my goal is always to be the kind of guide I like to have on my own travels. We cannot say enough wonderful things about Andre and his tour of Ponta Delgada. The island and the highlights he showed us were spectacular and breathtaking. Good tour but the weather was not so good. When I texted the night before asking if we should make changes due to the weather I was told no problem. We could, should, have made changes because of the weather

Our changing cruise schedule had Andre working hard to squeeze in all the fantastic sights he wanted our group of six to see on his tour. The uncooperative weather made this even harder, but Andre prevailed and took us on a grand tour! In spite of the weather, we enjoyed every moment. Andre is passionate about his homeland and that was very evident during the tour. We enjoyed the country views, the tea plantation, and listening to Andre's narratives. Thank you Andre for an enjoyable day!
Amazing tour with an amazing tour guide! So many beautiful areas to see and Andre is very knowledgeable (but not boring!) and interesting and super nice!!! I loved every bit of this tour and more and could not take enough pictures of everywhere! It was a super comfortable ride and the lunch was absolutely delicious!!! (if you like octopus then absolutely YES!). and it was so easy to book with ToursByLocals and they are wonderful about keeping you updated on everything. I definitely want to come back to Azores to see more and will book again with this company. Best way of seeing the area is with someone who's from here and hopefully will get Andre again!! After being picked up directly at your doorstep, begin the tour with a breathtaking view of Sete Cidades Lagoon from the viewpoint of Vista do Rei. After that, take a stroll through the Sete Cidades village and take in the scenery. Next, we head to Ribeira Grande, the second-largest city in São Miguel, to have lunch. After lunch, visit the lush green fields of the oldest tea plantation in Europe. Follow that up with the Cabrito Waterfall, a 40m tall waterfall with a natural pool. If you feel like taking a dip, then just wait for our next stop: the Caldeira Velha hotsprings, with stunning scenery for a relaxing time.
