The European Solidarity Center and historic Gdansk Shipyard Gate cannot be missed! This visit will allow you to understand better what we experienced during the rules of the communist party. "Solidarity" was born in August 1980 and was the beginning of the end of the communist regime. The representatives of the striking workers from many Polish factories and firms formed the Inter-Factory Striking Committee led by Lech Wałęsa who became later the president of Poland. On Solidarity Square, you'll see also the Monument of the Fallen Shipyard Workers killed by militia in December 1970. It is also the opportunity to be in BHP Hall where the Agreement between the representatives of Government and striking workers was signed and to see launched in 2014 The European Solidarity Center. Next steps we'll make our way to the building which was the seat of the local Communist Party and to St. Bridget Church where help and support to protesting people and dissenters were given. In the Church the beautiful Amber Altar
Among others you will see: - the famous Solidarity Square, - the Historic Gate of Gdansk Shipyard, - BHP Hall in which the negotiations between the representatives of striking workers and Polish Government in August 1980 were held, - the former part of Gdansk Shipyard with place in which Lech Wałęsa jumped over the wall to change the European history. You will feel the atmosphere of the communist time in Poland to: - visit the exhibition in The European Solidarity Center - and to see the seat of the local communist party the place where Milicja shot protesters. - We'll go also to St. Bridget Church one of the place, where the activists of anti-Communist opposition got support and help. By the way you'll have the opportunity to see nice interiors of the Church with big Amber Altar!. In case of bad weather conditions or special Holy Masses in St. Bridget Church or meeting in BHP Hall, the program can be changed acc to an agreement. Ask for a modified offer to visit the WWII Museum or other data
