Walk alongside the oldest part of Gdańsk. On the Royal Way you will see the rebuilt houses belonged in the past to rich patrician families from various European countries, houses rented by kings visited the city, places where decisions of city authorities were made, places where merchants lived in Gdansk met to conduct their disputes, to celebrate weddings and. . . to drink beer and to pray. We will cross old gates to see the old harbor with the unique Old Crane from XV cent. the street with fore-terraces and shops with amber. In the biggest in the world church made of bricks - Gothic St. Mary's Basilica we will admire the great astronomical clock from XV century, old sculptures and copy of the famous painting of Hans Memling "The Last Judgement". We will not miss the Great Armoury where the weapons were stored in the past with beautiful façade designed by Dutch architect. If you wish after the tour we can stop to taste famous pierogi or beer made in a small local brewery or in another chosen place.
She had trouble finding us. Had the wrong meet-up point.
Maggie was very patient and waited more than 2 hours for our tour, my own family would not wait for me this long! She was kind and understanding - and gave a terrific tour. We toured during COVID and although everything was closed, she was able to fill more than 3 hours with facts and fun. She knows details about architecture and history that keeps everyone interested. Her English is great and we highly recommend her!
Maggie is a great guide. She is very knowledgeable about the history, politics and geography of Poland and Gdansk in particular. I would definitely ask for her to guide me again if I return to the area.
Maggie is a wonderful lady who take care of her clients so well. She is very knowledgeable and makes sure everyone understands the history of this area, the old and the new. She was on time, and ready for our group to learn all about Gdansk. Made sure we were comfortable with all that we did. We couldn't ask for anything better. We spent a wonderful day with Maggie and would recommend her highly. Driver was excellent also. If in Gdansk get in touch with her, you will not be disappointed.
