Stutthoff Camp half day tour from Gdansk

On the strength of the Treaty of Versailles Gdańsk and the adjoining lowlands of the Vistula estuary were incorporated into the Free City of Danzig. The village of Stutthof lay within the borders of the Free City. The Stutthof camp was used us a detention, forced labour and concentration camp. It was put into operation on September 2, 1939 initially for the "undesirable Polish element" from Pomerania region. For over 5 years of its activity, the camp held inmates from 28 countries. Their living conditions, malnutrition, slave work and general mistreatment were to destroy their will and resistance. I am going to show you different forms of extermination used in the camp while it existed.
