Hi, my name is Kasia. I have 15 years of guiding experience and I am really lucky because guiding is my work and passion at the same time. Expanding my knowledge, meeting people from all over the world and sharing my love to the place is like amazing journey. I was born, grew up and live in The City of Freedom. It was in Gdansk where in 1980, after 18 days of strike, Solidarity was established, which was the first blow of uncertainty for the communist regimes. My home is a walking distance from the biggest Polish river Vistula. During the morning strolls, on one hand as a passionate photographer and person whose childhood was stunk in the atmosphere of port and shipyard, I take hundreds of pictures of the ships coming to Gdansk. On the other, I can watch seagulls flying over Westerplatte peninsula, a strip of land where on the 1st of September 1939 the Schleswig - Holstein's cannon - shots meant the outbreak of the hell on Earth that the WWII was. My personality traits of Slavic woman, reliability, hospitality, sensitivity and open mindedness which stem from my family background, the heritage of Polish originating from the Lviv area (since 1945 in Ukraine), together with my artistic education at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk, diversity of my work (I am a licensed tour guide, qualified teacher of English, cooperate with different cultural institutions in Gdansk) and my enthusiasm about the area are the factors making my guiding professional and colourful at the same time. The ancient history of The World Capital of Amber that Gdansk is; the turning point in 1980 when the revolutionary movement was established; the vicinity of the summer resort The Pearl of Baltic Sea - Sopot; the sophisticated example of the 1920-ties and 30-ties modernism architecture city - Gdynia give you the chance to experience an unforgettable, unique visit. Watching the marvelous view from one of the view points and delicious meal in one of local restaurants can be the final touch. If you want to familiarize not only with the landmarks of Tricity - Gdansk, Sopot, Gdynia, we can visit off the beaten path places or drive to outside the city destinations. I am a licensed tour guide in the Tricity and Pomeranian District (Voivoidship). The visit to Stutthoff Concentration Camp, Hel Peninsula, Kashuby, kayaking tours and many others can be the part of our meeting as well. I use both public and private transport. My tours are flexible and I am happy to customize. I am very much looking forward to meeting you. - Licensed tour guide in Tri-City (Gdansk, Sopot, Gdynia) - Licensed tour guide in Pomerania (Pomorze, Pomeranian Voivodeship) - Licensed tour guide in European Solidarity Centre in Gdansk - Licensed tour guide in Emmigration Museum in Gdynia - Licensed tour guide in Stutthof Concentration Camp Museum - Licensed tour guide in World War II Museum in Gdansk - List of about 90 countries whose nationals may enter Poland without a visa are published on the page of the ministry of foreign affairs www.msz.gov.pl - Bank holidays when the museums are closed https://www.officeholidays.com/countries/poland/index.php

Overview of your Gdansk tour

The best introduction to this harsh chapter of European history that the Second World War was is the WWII Museum. Since 2017 the modern building, standing in the vicinity of the oldest part of the city, hosts one of the hugest and moving exhibitions and collections ever. We will spend there about 2, 5 hours after which a short break for a cup of coffee or for lunch in the local bar let us rest a bit. Nearby polish civilians were defencing the Polish Post Office. We will visit the place, the building is still standing there. The next place will be Stutthof Concentration Camp Museum, about 1 hour drive from Gdansk. It was hell on the Earth between September 2nd 1939 and May 9th 1945. At 4. 48. in the morning, September 1st, 1939, from the German warship Schleswig - Holstein the fires were shot. The target was narrow peninsula at the end of Vistula river. 215 polish soldiers, in the lasting 7 days battle, showed incredible heroism. At the end we will drive to Westerplatte, former Polish Weapon Transit Depot.
