We begin our tour in Barranco, this was a beach town of XIX century, famous for the Bridge of Sighs, meeting point for lovers. There you'll see old mansions of Lima city high class. We will cross Chorrillos where are placed Santa Mónica Prison for women and Villa Swamps, then we get the Panamerican Highway. We arrive at Pachacamac, one of the most populated cities in América continent and ancient Andean Oracle that was visited by members of many cultures to make consults about the future. Temple of the Sun, House of Chosen Women (Acllahuasi), Taurichumpi's Palace, museum, you'll see there. We go back to Chorrillos to visit the Solar Headland, natural Lookout from where you'll see the city in front of the ocean, historical place where happened a battle in the XIX century. Back to the hotel.
Pachacámac is a massive and interesting site and it was nice to have a guide like Alfredo who could explain the significance of it all. I also quite enjoyed the others stops he included on this tour, particularly Barranco with its beautiful street art.
Alfredo had good communication with us on WhatsApp before the tour and fixed exactly the meeting time and place. He was very talkative and explained a lot of history of Pachacamac and the headland of a mountain of Lima with a statue ofJesus overlooking the Pacific, and took us to the photogenic places in Barranco and took good photos for us. He never hurried us and made us feel relaxed all day. He must be tired talking enthusiastically over 4 hours in the tour. We highly recommend him as a guide and we learnt a lot from his explanations. Must also mention he also brought a few interesting props like a replica long stick of the God of Earthquake with face of the past and face of the future. great for photos. The driver with him was also very safe and good.
Alfredo was very knowledgeable and took us to many interesting places that were easy distance from Lima. He let us make our own choices and explained things well. It was fun seeing all the little Chorrillos taxi’s and we got back in time for the Shuttle bus to our ship. This wasn’t easy in the very busy Lima traffic .
Great day out with Alfredo & excellent transport with driver Carlos. Alfredo is very knowledgeable & informative, especially during some of the travel time in Lima’s crazy traffic. Excellent english & takes great photos 😊
We had a lovely time with Alfredo exploring. The site of Pachacamac is quite large and our experience was greatly enhanced by his planning and deep knowledge. We loved having some time in nature and getting an overview on the unique neighborhood of Barranco. Happy to recommend Alfredo!
