Hi! I am Sandra, and I'm a local guide who has been taking travelers on sightseeing tours of Lima, Peru, since 2001. I love my job! What makes my job so special, you ask? Well, first of all, I like the history of my country. We are blessed with such a rich heritage and fantastic history; I couldn't ask for a better story to tell! I love guiding because it gives me a very special feeling when I help people learn new things about Peru. Witnessing travelers' combination of amazement, excitement, and happiness is a constant reminder of why my job is so amazing. I love what I do and I want to share expereinces with you showing you the hidden gems of Lima. Where is the oldest house in Lima downtown? Do you want to see it? During the tour we can do stops to try some local food, peruvian coffee, a local sandwich or maybe do you want to try Pisco Sour at the bar where it was created (yep I know that place). This tour is for you!!!
Sandra was a wonderful guide and her private tour of Lima gave us the perfect introduction to the city and its history. The unexpected highlight for me was our visit to Pucllana, made all the more special by Sandra’s knowledge and passion for this little known archaeological site where she previously worked as a guide.

Sandra was delightful! She was prompt and eager to please us any way she could! We opted for a more relaxed tour and visited a market, the ruins near Miraflores and views of beaches as well as stops in a couple popular neighborhoods in Lima. We learned so much and had a great, fun day! We have always had luck using Tours by Locals and Sandra was excellent! We highly recommend her.
Sandra was great! Very good English, she knows her city inside out and is very knowledgeable when it comes to its history and current day issues. She picked us up promptly at the hotel and was dropped back at 3pm. The Huaca Pucllana Pre-Inca site built 900 years before Machu Picchu is well worth a visit. If you are looking for a great Lima Guide you will not be disappointed with Sandra. Also a big thank you to Viktor our brilliant driver, brilliant driving. Nerves of steel🫣

During this 5 hour tour you can see the highlights of Lima, places such as: Miraflores, the touristic part of Lima where you can see The Park of Love a quick stop to see the ocean. Huaca Pucllana Pre-Inca site built 900 years before Machu Picchu. Then Surquillo Local Market a quick stop and see our local products. Then drive to Lima Downtown where the historical places are located, to see San Martin Plaza from where we are going to continue the tour by walking through Union Street until Main Square where is the Goverment Palace, Cathedral, San Francisco Church. If you can visit the cathedral or the Catacombs the entrance is by your own. The itinerary can be adapted to traveller's interests: do not hesitate to contact me for a customized experience.
