Hi there !!! My name's Abel, I'm considered one of the top tour guides based in Lima. I'm multilingual ( I can speak American English, French, Spanish, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese and German ) I consider that guiding visitors is not only my full-time job but also one of my greatest passions . I've been immersed in the fascinating world of history, archaeology, culture and traditions since I was a child and one of my personal aims is to keep my own culture and identity alive for my coming generations . I must thank my parents who were involved in education as high-school teachers. They passed me their knowledge and curiosity for exploring and investigating more and more about my country. My dad was a History and Geography teacher, whereas my mom was a Spanish-language grammar teacher. I would be more than happy to have you guys as my guests during your stay in Lima and the nearby areas such as Caral, Paracas, and the Nazca, I can arrange tours to those areas too. As I said lines above I'm FLUENT in multiple languages like English ( I lived in the state of NM, USA ) , French, Portuguese, Italian and German ( Ich habe das Goethe Institut B1 Zertifikat ) . I am LICENSED and AUTHORIZED to work as a tour guide by the Peruvian Ministry of Tourism ( MINCETUR ) which is our official national entity. I am mainly focused on doing tours in Lima, just feel to ask me for any customized tour. I also invite you to have a look at my tour list and if there's anything you wanna add or modify it's possible. Cruise ship passengers are highly welcome to contact me for a tour. I know quite well how to manage cruise ship operations since some of years ago I worked on a cruise ship. I will be very glad if you guys drop me a line. Hope to hear from you soon . I am licensed by the Ministry of Tourism in Peru with the support of the College of Bachelors in Tourism. Degree in Fully Conversational American English at ICPNA Degree in Fully Conversational French at Alliance Francaise de Lima Degree in Lingua Italiana nell' Istituto Italiano di Cultura Degree of Lingua Portuguesa como Idioma Estrangeiro NOTICE : If you are coming on a cruise ship, me, as an independent tour guide can go to pick you up at the port entrance ( APM Terminals gate ) . From the dockside you'll need to take the free shuttle bus offered by the Callao port authorities for cruise passengers that brings you guys to the gate or meeting point.

The Peruvian Gold museum is located at Surco ( east side of Lima ) and was founded in 1968 by the Peruvian businessman and diplomat Miguel Mujica Gallo and it's considered today the 2nd. most important Gold collection in the Americas after the one in Bogota ( Columbia ) It's divided into two levels, down in the basement you'll find a display of around 8, 000 pieces including 3,500 made of gold, silver and copper of different Peruvian pre-Incan civilizations like the Mochicas, Vicus and Lambayaques. You'll see pieces of jewelry like crowns, earrings, bracelets, necklaces and nose pieces that were worn by former nobles and leaders during rituals and ceremonies to please their principal Gods and divinities. We are also going to visit the "Mummies Hall" where 04 mummies from the northern and southern part of the country can be found buried in different positions as well as the world-famous Paracas elongated skulls which was a practise done in the past in Peru to demostrate a higher status and hierarchy.

Abel, our guide, recommended this tour, mentioned it as a favorite of his, and it did not disappoint. If you love history, as we do, and you want better to know the local history, this tour is for you. I believe this tour may be less traveled by most, but should be high on everyone's list. Abel's knowledge and his exceptional knowledge made this the perfect visit.
Abel was so great to work with, and we used him as a guide on several other trips around Lima as well. He has an excellent knowledge of Peruvian and South American history which really allowed the items in this museum to make sense. Abel's English is excellent and he was super friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend him as a tour guide around Lima.
I highly recommend Abel as a guide. His English fluency was incredible. He also has in depth knowledge of the culture and history of Peru. He was the most enjoyable guide whom we have had on our 3 week trip in Peru. We had originally planned to visit both the Gold Museum and the Larco Museum. The traffic in Lima was so congested that we spent 2 1/2 hours in the car so ran out of time and did not get to view the Larco Museum .
This half day tour was a perfect opportunity to add on a unique experience to a couple day stay in Lima. Abel is a very knowledgeable guide is very warm and caring and intuitive; easily adjusting his tour and discussion to your specific wants. He is very interesting and easy to talk with as we had fun and interesting conversations about our counties. The museum is impressive and a wonderful collection of various gold and other artifacts. We added a trip to the market which added another fun dimension to the day. With Abel’s translation assistance we were able to negotiate and purchase our souvenir treasures. If you want a wonderful day seeing something different with an amazing knowledgeable guide…look no further and pick Abel as your guide…you will not be disappointed!
The Gold museum was incredible; Abel provided the perfect amount of background and information to help us understand what we we seeing. Not only did it have amazing archeological pieces, but included a ton of of other weapons and artifacts that can't be found in many other locations in the world. Worth the time to go see and Abel made it so much more interesting with his extensive background and knowledge. Great way to spend the day in Lima! Thank you Abel.
