Hi there! I'm Mila, born and raised right here in Lima. After finishing school, I followed my creative heart and studied Drawing and Painting at Lima's National School of Fine Arts, art in all its forms has always been my great passion. Over the years, I've worked across several local museums as both a guide and an educational program creator. I’ve been sharing Lima with travelers for over a decade now, always keeping my tours human-centered and intentional. For me, sustainable tourism isn't just a concept; it's about making sure every experience genuinely respects and benefits the host communities. In fact, I am one of the very few official guides in Lima specializing in Indigenous Folk Art. Back in 2022, I created the Indigenous Shipibo Art Experience, a project I’m immensely proud of, designed in close collaboration with master women artisans from the Shipibo-Konibo community living here in Lima. Sharing the intimate micro-stories of these incredible artisan guardians, who act as true living heritage, is an absolute privilege.

Discover with me the meaning of ancient Shipibo art and create your work with the help of a traditional artisan. Twenty-five years ago, a group of Shipibo-Konibo women decided to travel to the capital in search of new opportunities. Today, their art brightens many of Lima's art galleries. Three years ago, I took the initiative to organize tours to this community. Since then, artisans have regularly received visits from travellers interested in learning about them and appreciating their work. I am currently one of the few licensed guides working as a team with artisans from the Shipibo-Konibo community of Lima.
We'll pick you up at your hotel/accommodation or at a meeting point, whichever you prefer. The route will be as follows: - Pick up at your hotel/accommodation - 40-minute private transfer to the Rimac district - Arrival at the Shipibo Indigenous Community of Lima - Entrance to the master artisan's home workshop - Personal introduction to the host artisan and her work - Ancestral art workshop with tree bark pigments - Purchase of handicrafts from the home - Drop off at your hotel/accommodation We can adjust the start time or include any nearby activities or attractions of interest to you.
