Our Tour begins watching the Lima cliffs, one of the most special places of the city. On the route, we'll have panoramic views of 2 Mansions of the Lima XIX centuries: Osma and Mario Testino Museums. On the route you'll see a Champion of the World. We walk through Osma Avenue, the nicest one of Lima. We arrive to the Main Square of Barranco, you can look around the old mansions of the old Lima high society. There is a tram in the area, the last one of Lima. We walk down along a street where you can see artistic graffiti. Getting back, we take 10 minutes visiting Jade Rivera local muralist Museum. Continuing our route, we will reach the Bridge of Sighs, the most romantic place in the city. When we go up we have a panoramic view of the neighborhood. Taking a local bus, we go to Miraflores to visit Love Park, one of the nicest parks of Lima, famous for its sculpture known as The Kiss by local artist Victor Delfin. Finally, we go to Larcomar Shopping Center, nice balcony to watch the sea.
Alfredo is an outstanding guide, and I highly recommend him. Not only did he take us to the places on the itinerary, he pointed out local sites and things that make these areas of Lima so interesting. His knowledge, kindness and planning were evident in everything we did. He made our first day in Lima special.
He was attentive, knowledgeable, personable, and answered all of our questions. He very much wanted us to understand the meaning the murals that populate Barranco and capture the flavor of this section of his city.
We really enjoyed the tour of the Barranco area of Lima. We met our guide in Love Park, got the story behind the park and some good pictures, then caught the bus to Barranco which is always interesting to see how the locals travel. We enjoyed walking around the Barranco neighborhood and seeing all the murals. At the end of the trip we caught a taxi back to our hotel with the guide and he continued on home from there. It was a nice touch that he ensured we got back to our hotel without getting lost.
Alfredo was a fantastic guide and we thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon in Lima with him. We had walked Miraflores on our own in the AM, but with Alfredo in the afternoon, it was clear how much more we learned about Lima with him as our guide. The Barranco neighborhood is really interesting, and Alfredo was flexible in modifying our itinerary so that we could see the Huaca Pucclana in Miraflores neighborhood. A ride on public bus was really fun as well. Thank you Alfredo!!!
Had a great time on this tour. Learned a lot about the parks on the malecon, Chinese history and larcomar mall. Guide was very knowledgeable and patient and helped us take some great pictures. He gave us some excellent perspective of barranco including specific buildings, the coastline, points of interest and historical facts. We ended the day with a great meal at a local Peruvian restaurant that had live local music with an impromptu appearance by a local famous singer. Highly recommend this tour.
