Hi there !!! My name's Abel, I'm considered one of the top tour guides based in Lima. I'm multilingual ( I can speak American English, French, Spanish, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese and German ) I consider that guiding visitors is not only my full-time job but also one of my greatest passions . I've been immersed in the fascinating world of history, archaeology, culture and traditions since I was a child and one of my personal aims is to keep my own culture and identity alive for my coming generations . I must thank my parents who were involved in education as high-school teachers. They passed me their knowledge and curiosity for exploring and investigating more and more about my country. My dad was a History and Geography teacher, whereas my mom was a Spanish-language grammar teacher. I would be more than happy to have you guys as my guests during your stay in Lima and the nearby areas such as Caral, Paracas, and the Nazca, I can arrange tours to those areas too. As I said lines above I'm FLUENT in multiple languages like English ( I lived in the state of NM, USA ) , French, Portuguese, Italian and German ( Ich habe das Goethe Institut B1 Zertifikat ) . I am LICENSED and AUTHORIZED to work as a tour guide by the Peruvian Ministry of Tourism ( MINCETUR ) which is our official national entity. I am mainly focused on doing tours in Lima, just feel to ask me for any customized tour. I also invite you to have a look at my tour list and if there's anything you wanna add or modify it's possible. Cruise ship passengers are highly welcome to contact me for a tour. I know quite well how to manage cruise ship operations since some of years ago I worked on a cruise ship. I will be very glad if you guys drop me a line. Hope to hear from you soon . I am licensed by the Ministry of Tourism in Peru with the support of the College of Bachelors in Tourism. Degree in Fully Conversational American English at ICPNA Degree in Fully Conversational French at Alliance Francaise de Lima Degree in Lingua Italiana nell' Istituto Italiano di Cultura Degree of Lingua Portuguesa como Idioma Estrangeiro NOTICE : If you are coming on a cruise ship, me, as an independent tour guide can go to pick you up at the port entrance ( APM Terminals gate ) . From the dockside you'll need to take the free shuttle bus offered by the Callao port authorities for cruise passengers that brings you guys to the gate or meeting point.

Discovered in 1994, CARAL, this monumental complex is located at about 184 km ( 114 miles ) north of Lima on the Supe valley. During the tour we'll be driving on the PanAmerican highway ( California State Route 1 in the US ) , which is all-paved but then we are taking a detour ( unpaved and a little bumpy ) to access to the ruins ( be aware of it ) The ruins of Caral was the capital city of the oldest civilization in the Americas, and its age is comparable to sites in Egypt or even Mesopotamia. This ruins is located at 26 km (17 miles) away from the coast at an elevation of 350 meters ( 1 150 ft ) It takes a 4.5 hours drive to get to CARAL from Lima. On-route we can a stop for breakfast ( not included ). NOTICIE : From December to April it is the rainy season up in the Andes mountains so our vehicle will drop us off at Caral Pueblo and from there we have to take a " small shuttle truck " to get to the ruins ( unpaved and bumpy road too )
Pick-up from your hotel at 06. 30 am ( hotels at Miraflores, San Isidro and Barranco, for airport and cruise port pick-up ask before booking ) The drive to Caral takes around 4.5 hours on the PanAm Highway, it's expected to encounter heavy traffic at the exit of Lima ) The guided tour at Caral takes around 1. 5 hours and it's compulsory to go with a local Caral-site guide who doesn't speak any foreign language but Spanish only, I'll take care of the translation for you. It's not always guaranteed to get a private Caral guide because it depends on the availability, sometimes we might join a group. The ruins is located close to a valley ( the Supe valley ) so depending on the season I suggest you to bring a jacket, a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and hiking shoes especially from December to April. After the tour at Caral, we can stop at Huacho ( one hour from Caral ) for lunch if you need to ( seafood or a duck-based dishes restaurant ) . After lunch we drive back to Lima.
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
We'll be driving on an AC private vehice so you can be comfortable during the long drive to Caral and take a nap on the way to the ruins.
Lima, Callao Region, Peru
