Welcome to Oslo :) My name is Elpida, and I originally come from Greece. I have always been curious about different cultures, which is why I studied History and Archaeology in the Philosophy Department at Aristotle University. I chose to become a local resident of Oslo after visiting Norway for the first time a few years ago. From the very beginning, I felt a strong connection to this country. The calm atmosphere, the unique vibe of the city, its simplicity combined with excellent functionality, the beautiful nature surrounding Oslo, and the kindness of the locals made my decision easy. Only a few months after my first visit, I moved to Oslo. Since then, I have been eager to explore every aspect of the city and Norwegian culture. Learning the language, understanding local habits, and discovering the Norwegian way of life through language classes and everyday experiences has been one of the most fascinating journeys of my life. Simplicity is definitely one of the keys to a joyful life. Working in the hospitality industry for the past three years as a front desk manager and crew leader in one of the biggest hotels in Oslo has given me the perfect opportunity to share my passion for Oslo and Norwegian culture with visitors from all around the world. One of my favorite questions to hear is: “We have two days in Oslo: what do you recommend?” I truly enjoy creating personalized experiences based on what people love to see, eat, drink, and discover. Receiving their feedback afterward is always incredibly fulfilling. Sharing experiences with travelers has also opened many doors for me, allowing me to discover places in Oslo that I might not have found otherwise. The best sushi restaurant in the city or traditional waffles with brown cheese? Thrifting in Grünerløkka or taking a boat trip through the fjord? Whatever your style is, Oslo has something for everyone. Some of my favorite places in Oslo include a peaceful walk along the Akerselva River — one of the first places where I imagined myself living here. Passing by the Nedre Foss waterfall during my morning runs, I often found myself thinking about how beautiful life can be when you live so close to nature. I also love enjoying brunch in Oslobukta, in the heart of modern Bjørvika. And when the weather is warm enough, people gather by the sea to swim and sunbathe, because in Oslo, sunny days are truly a celebration. As a passionate art lover and musician, I also know all the best places to enjoy a live jazz band, a Friday evening with beer and rock ’n’ roll, or a beautiful classical concert in one of the city’s historic churches. If you’re interested, feel free to contact me for a personalized tour. I would love to show you around and make the experience special and enjoyable for you. Let’s discover the city together!
