I am a dedicated Oslo guide, born and grown up in Oslo where I have lived all my life and have been working here as a guide since 2017. I have lived in almost all parts of Oslo, representing the large diversity of social and economic living conditions. I have had a variety of occupations in this city and therefore know how the city looks like from different perspectives. It was therefore quite natural for me to become an Oslo guide, a city I am proud of and would love to present to visitors. I offer some planned tours, but these could be adjusted based on your preferences, and I may also offer fully customized tours. I have as well been working several years as a tour leader in Norway and Scandinavia, and I can therefore offer customized tours from Oslo to different regions in Norway. Oslo can offer a unique combination of historical and cultural attractions of a large city, a variety of good restaurants, and beautiful surroundings. Situated at the end of a long fjord and surrounded by hills and a large forest, and with its many parks, it can offer a variety of opportunities for boat trips, hiking, biking, swimming, fishing and for skiing in the winter time. After visiting museums or other attractions in the city, a 25 minutes tour with the metro takes you to the forest where you can walk or bike for many miles and have a swim. You can even have a sauna and a swim at a beach in the inner city close to the Opera house if you want; the water is clean!

We will walk on a tour that includes the buildings of some main historical institutions as well as visiting some central sites for Norwegian art. The history of Norway as a unified political entity goes back to the 800s, in the Viking age. Then, in the middle ages and later Norway was in a union, first with Denmark and then with Sweden. From 1814 and onwards Norway gradually reclaimed its independence. This fascinating history and development is also expressed through art, and two of them are quite new; The National Museum and the Munch Museum. There are several sculpture parks; The Vigeland Sculpture Park, The Ekeberg Sculpture Park, and the Peer Gynt Park. Oslo has a large variety of attractions to offer and enjoy; museums, art, architecture, historical buildings, around 80 parks, and a large selection of restaurants, pubs, bars, coffee shops, and bakeries. The city is located at the end of a fjord and is surrounded by hills and a large forest that offer opportunities for outdoor sports and activities.
We will visit or pass the sites and the buildings of the following institutions: -The Royal Palace -The old University of Oslo -The Parliament/The Government Norwegian art: The National Museum (inside) The Oslo City Hall (inside, if available; on some days it is closed for special events) The Vigeland Sculpture Park - the largest sculpture park in the world designed by one man. It has more than 200 sculptures with around 700 figure in granite, bronze and wrought iron. As with every Toursbylocals tour, this tour is of course customisable. Please contact me using the orange button to discuss this. This tour does not include a stop for lunch, however, if you like to factor that in, please contact me. Otherwise I will be happy to recommend some amazing places for the best of Norwegian or other cuisine.

There is a tram line that takes us from the city centre to the Vigeland Sculpture Park.
1 Johanne Dybwads plass, Oslo, Oslo, 0161, Norway
The National theatre is located very close to the main exit of Nationaltheatret metro station. Coming out of the metro station, you look straight on the back of the theatre building. Several bus lines and tram lines have a stop at Nationaltheatret.
