My name is Lene, I'm 59 years old and born in Oslo. I'm educated as an engineer with a degree within economics, and got my diploma as an Authorized Oslo Guide in the year 2000. I have worked with tourists for 26 years now, and my favorite tours are the customized ones. I love to show my city and the sorrundings from all different angles - through history and storytelling, foodtasting, museums and streetart, crime- and ghostwalks, and everything that has to do with nature (walks, hikes and bicycle tours). I'm passionate about my work, and love getting in contact with people from all over the world. I like to tell the history in my way, sharing personal stories from my own life and my parents / grandparents life (I'm the 3.generation from Oslo). Funny or horrible stories are also a part of it, so that you maybe remember something when you come home... :) In Norway you need a professional driver license to drive guests for payment. My tours are either by public transportation, by foot or bike, or we can hire a car with a driver.

This tour includes the City center along the fiord, where we'll pass the Opera House, the Akershus Fortress and the City Hall. It also includes a visit to the Vigeland sculpture park, passing the Royal palace, the National theatre, the University and the Parliament on our way back An alternative to going to the Vigeland sculpture park is to continue along the fiord to the museum peninsula called Bygdøy. If you choose this itinerary we'll need one hour more. On Bygdøy we can visit one of many museums and learn more about: * the Polar-history (the FRAM museum, woted as the best museum in Norway) * the Adventure-history (the Kontiki museum) * the Norwegian Folk-history (the Norwegian Heritage museum - the first Open air museum in the world) Or, if the weather is beautiful, we can ride down to one of the cosy beaches in the south and have a break with the possibility of tasting the delicious Norwegian ice cream :) We return along paths in the forest
I meet you at our agreed starting point and we walk together to collect the bikes Then we ride down to the Oslo fiord to a nice view point of the Opera house, which is made like an iceberg coming up from the sea. We continue along the seaside passing the Akershus fortress and the City hall, before we find our way along Aker brygge and the beautiful Thief island. Next stop will be the Vigeland sculpture park, where you'll have time to enjoy the sculptures, take pictures and climb them - if you want. . :) During our ride through one of the most expensive residential areas in Norway called Frogner we can have a coffee break, before we stop in front of the Royal Palace. I'll point out the most important buildings along our main street, Karl Johan, on our way back to the bike rental place. We'll pass the University, the National theatre, the Parliament building and the Grand hotel, where all celebrities stay when they visit our city.
