My name is Lene, I'm 59 years old and born in Oslo. I'm educated as an engineer with a degree within economics, and got my diploma as an Authorized Oslo Guide in the year 2000. I have worked with tourists for 26 years now, and my favorite tours are the customized ones. I love to show my city and the sorrundings from all different angles - through history and storytelling, foodtasting, museums and streetart, crime- and ghostwalks, and everything that has to do with nature (walks, hikes and bicycle tours). I'm passionate about my work, and love getting in contact with people from all over the world. I like to tell the history in my way, sharing personal stories from my own life and my parents / grandparents life (I'm the 3.generation from Oslo). Funny or horrible stories are also a part of it, so that you maybe remember something when you come home... :) In Norway you need a professional driver license to drive guests for payment. My tours are either by public transportation, by foot or bike, or we can hire a car with a driver.

Join me on an exciting walk along our city river called Akerselva See the old factories and breweries, hear about the industrial history from 1870-1920, and the beginning of the labour movement. Listen to stories about the people that once lived and worked here, including my grandfather and my dad (who grew up here). We'll cross bridges with very different arcitecture, and see some of our city's most astonishing waterfalls. I'll tell you about the nature and the wildlife surrounding us as we approach more urban areas. Half the way down we have a coffee break at the little cafe that makes the Original Norwegian Waffels - if it's open, or stop by one of the last kiosks that sells "pølser I lompe" (traditional hotdog in a potatoe pancake). The tour ends at the Foodhall, Vulkan, close to Grunerløkka on the east side of Oslo. This area is a contrast to what you have experienced until now, with lots of colours and street art. We either walk or take the tram back to the city center.
* Starting and ending point in the city * Use public transportation (the tram) together with the locals * Experience a riverwalk - a very popular activity in Oslo * Learn about the industrial history and listen to stories from my own family * Enjoy the sounds of birds and running water; nature offer us a moment of peace inside :) * Try our coffee and Norwegian waffle, or "pølse og lompe" (a hotdog in a potatoe pancake) * Have a guided tour through the Foodhall, where I point out our traditional food * Visit the area called "Blå", with all the colorful streetart you find there
