My tours are about bringing you into up-close and personal contact with all that makes the Yucatan so special. I try to avoid the cookie-cutter itineraries, usual-suspect attractions and anything - yawn - cliché. The unusual, the heart-wrenching, the melancholy and the joyful. Spontaneity and serendipity are our travel companions. I love to create memorable outings that are win-win-win. For you, for the people we meet, and yes, for me also! A Canadian Yucatecan (my Yucatecan wife and two daughters say I'm more Yucatecan than they are) who has lived in the Yucatan for almost 40 years. I am passionate about the area's colonial history, its' people, language and food. It is my special talent to act as the bridge between my guests from abroad and locals; from talented artisans to lovely ladies that will teach you how to properly make a corn tortilla by hand to enjoying a home-cooked meal in a small village. The experience will be one you won't soon forget. When people come to the Mexico's Yucatan, one of the things they want to see are the famous cenotes. There are literally thousands of these splattered throughout the Yucatan peninsula, on private land, in small villages, even at Merida's Costco! We will visit 4-5-6 of these underground marvels. Starting with a light cave experience to see what the Mayans considered their sacred places, we move on to plenty of refreshing water fun in several of the area's prettiest and most beautiful cenotes. This trip is great for families with children who need some relief from all that history and the heat!
Great day out with Ralf. Super relaxing and fun experience. Lots of very different cenotes each with it’s own characteristics.
Our tour with Ralph was amazing. I would highly recommend this tour . Ralph was knowledgeable and made sure we understood everything we were seeing and experiencing . We learned so much about the cenotes and the people/culture. Ralph was fun to be with and made the whole experience memorable ! You will not be disappointed if you book a tour with him!
Ralf is alot of fun and is willing to customize your tour. We went to the Uxmal ruins, had lunch with a local family, and swam in a gorgeous cenote! We saw a few other sites on the drive. The whole day was fantastic.
Ralf was an amazing tour guide! Very personable and knowledgeable on the local culture. My group had a great time hanging out with Ralf! I would highly recommend hanging out with him for the day. He knew the history and was able to help translate along the way. Book Ralf!
Pick up at your residence or hotel. Drive for about an hour to the area we will visit, with the possibility of a leg-stretch stop at a small town with a big church and a charming market. Our descent into the Mayan underworld begins with a small cave; nothing too claustrophobic but enough to admire some truly amazing rock formations and get our feet (and legs and waist) wet. Then we visit about 4-5 more cenotes, all within 10 minutes of each other, so no more long driving is necessary. Along the way we will find and eat some fruit, street food or something delicious so as not to starve on the way. After a good 6 hours or so of this, we head back to Merida. Generally, folks fall asleep on the way back after bathing in the relaxing underground pools that the Yucatan has become famous for.

Private, late model air-conditioned, and insured sedan. For groups of up to three people. For larger groups of up to four to seven we would rent a minivan and the cost would be $250 more to cover vehicle and expenses including entry fees.
