Hello! My name is Daniel Canul Li, and I truly appreciate you taking the time to read a little bit about me. I’m 100% yucateco, born and raised right here. As a fourth generation Korean-Yucatecan, direct descendant of those who arrived to work in the henequen haciendas, my roots in this land run deep. I’m also a passionate collector of banknotes, hacienda tokens and historical documents from Yucatán. This hobby has given me a unique connection to the stories, people and historical moments that shaped the region. I’ve been a Federally Certified Guide since 2017, just as the law requires. Before guiding, I worked as a History teacher for primary and secondary students, an experience that taught me how to make the past engaging, relatable and enjoyable. My tours are all about showing you the Yucatán as we locals truly experience it, not the rehearsed routes or the overcrowded stops, and definitely nothing that feels mass-produced. I focus on the real, the meaningful, the unexpected, those small moments that stay with you long after the trip is over. Safety, good conversations, and genuine human connection are always part of my journeys. Making sure you feel comfortable and secure is essential to truly enjoying our time together. We can craft an experience that goes far beyond the tour itself, something worth remembering long after the day is over. I’d be truly honored to share my home, my culture and my stories with you. If you’re looking for an experience that feels personal, authentic, safe and created especially for you, I’d love to be your guide. Whenever you’re ready, I’m here to help you plan a trip you’ll never forget. I hope to meet you soon — let’s explore Yucatán together!

If you’re looking for a meaningful experience in Yucatán, particularly one that blends history, nature & authentic local life without the stress of big crowds, then this tour is for you. Let's visit Uxmal, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most beautiful & well-preserved Mayan cities. With fewer visitors than other archaeological sites, Uxmal allows to appreciate its architecture with no rush. We'll also visit a village cenote managed by local families, where you could swim in its clear, refreshing waters & enjoy a peaceful atmosphere with no crowds. Additionally, we'll taste a small sample of traditional Yucatecan food, prepared in the community, which in my experience is usually a memorable tour highlight for my guests. Through the tour, my goal is to make you feel safe & well cared for, with the peace of mind that I’ll get you back to your cruise ship or lodging on time. With almost a decade of experience guiding, and a Federal Guiding License, I assure you, you’ll be in good hands.
•The tour will begin with a pickup from an agreed location, either in Progreso or in Merida (please select your preferred address when booking). •After giving you a welcome briefing and introducing myself, we'll begin a roughly hour and a half long drive towards Uxmal. •On arrival, I'll lead you on a guided visit of Uxmal •Next, we'll embark on a roughly 40 min drive to a cenote where you'll be able to swim and have a bite to eat. •At last, just sit back and relax as we return to where we started the tour from.

If your group consisted of up to 3 travellers, we would use a Kia Seltos SUV. If you were in a larger group, please contact me before booking so I could send you a customized version of this tour. Depending on the size of the group, we will use the most suitable vehicle. Rest assured all options are comfortable and equipped with air conditioning. The vehicles I use are registered with federal license plates specifically for tourism, as required by Mexican law.
Progreso, Yucatan, Mexico
If you're a cruise ship passenger, once you exit the ship, you'll walk through souvenir shops until you reach the shuttle & taxi area. You'll be able to either take the free shuttle or a taxi (suggested). You'll be dropped off at the AutoProgreso bus station. Once there, look to your left for the ONLY exit door that is inaccurately marked as “NO EXIT.” I assure you these is a completely functional exit that you can actually use. I’ll be waiting right outside with a sign with your name.
