My tours are about bringing you into up-close and personal contact with all that makes the Yucatan so special. I try to avoid the cookie-cutter itineraries, usual-suspect attractions and anything - yawn - cliché. The unusual, the heart-wrenching, the melancholy and the joyful. Spontaneity and serendipity are our travel companions. I love to create memorable outings that are win-win-win. For you, for the people we meet, and yes, for me also! A Canadian Yucatecan (my Yucatecan wife and two daughters say I'm more Yucatecan than they are) who has lived in the Yucatan for almost 40 years. I am passionate about the area's colonial history, its' people, language and food. It is my special talent to act as the bridge between my guests from abroad and locals; from talented artisans to lovely ladies that will teach you how to properly make a corn tortilla by hand to enjoying a home-cooked meal in a small village. The experience will be one you won't soon forget. Thirty-plus-year Resident of the Yucatan Published Author - Yucatecan Spanish Dictionary BCIT Hotel Mgmt Program Serial Entrepreneur Tours at archaeological sites will be done by a professional guide hired on site for that purpose. A driver with a federal tourism drivers license will accompany us in a vehicle that has been properly plated for tourism as per local law.

Looking for a way to combine your transfer from Merida to Valladolid (or vice versa!) and actually see a few things along the way? This little tour is for you. It's is a far better option than taking a plain bus or the mind-numbingly boring toll road. You will see several small towns along the way, meet some local folks, take lots of photos and eat interesting and tasty street food including what many have called the most delicious grilled chicken they have ever tasted. There is even the potential for a cenote stop as well. The emphasis here is on exploration, spontaneity and "going with the flow" until we reach our destination, about 3-4 hours after leaving Merida/Valladolid
Leave Merida or Valladolid, and take the old or non-toll highway to Valladolid/Merida. There can be stops in Kantunil, Hoctun, Tahmek, Holcá, Libre Union and Yokdzonot along the way. Bonus: you will also learn how to pronounce these Mayan names as well. Great conversation en route and plenty of time to really see the countryside. The plan is to leave Merida / Valladolid in the morning, not too early, then drive to Valladolid / Merida where your accommodation awaits. Remember this is a transfer in the form of a relaxed tour. Figure on about 4-5 hours of driving with stops, to get to your destination. So if your check-in is at 3 PM, we could leave your place at 10 or 11 AM to comfortably get there. This is an example to give you an idea of timing. Of course, any and all tours can be customized to fit YOUR needs and wants.
