Mayan Artisans, their Towns, Workshops and Handicrafts

In this unique experience we will visit modern Mayan artists, some of them live in Merida but if they don´t we will go to their towns and villages to meet them, we will visit their workshops and talk to them. We will discover the families their names and techniques behind the items we see in the galeries. We have 2 different options of routes. Route 1 includes: * Visiting the workshop and galery of a mayan family who does pottery *Visiting the workshop of a mayan family who makes baskets, hats and bags with a local type of palm tree *Visiting the workshop and studio of a family who makes shoes *Visiting the workshop of a Mayan lady who works with sisal fiber Route 2 includes: *Visiting the workshop of mayan family who makes hammocks *Visiting the workshop and studio of mayan family who makes jewelry with a local type of coconut tree called "cocoyol" *Visiting the workshop of a mayan wood carver *Visiting a workshop of the typical Yucatan dresses and "guayaberas".
