Walk through the history of Hiroshima with your local guide

Coco was a wonderful guide for our day in Hiroshima. She was able to meet us at our ship, and arranged for us to have a car and driver for the day. Her knowledge of the places she showed us was wonderful. She’s very well spoken, very fun to be around, and we learned she’d even been to our hometown (Wasilla, Alaska)! We asked her to take us to a place she liked to go to for lunch, and it turned out to be one of the best meals we’ve had on our Japan cruise. She easily tailored the day to our preferences. We would definitely contact her again the next time we’re in Hiroshima.

Coco was a fantastic tour guide and a good listener. She had very good ideas for pacing our walk in Hiroshima and very good advice for restaurants and for our plans for Myajima the next day. Her English is great and she provided excellent context for everything we saw and for local history, particularly just before and after the atomic bomb blast. We had a six hour tour and the time went by really fast.

We spent a wonderful day with Ms Coco S. our first stop was the Japanese Garden in Hiroshima. We are still marvelling about the beauty of the tranquil setting, the meanings behind each section and the jumping fish. Ms Coco explained very well about the significance of the remains of the castle grounds. The Buddhist temple in the hills was another peaceful and gorgeous location to wander through. Afterwards we enjoyed an amazing local curry before we moved to a more somber part of the tour. The Honkawa elementary school building affected by the bombing left a vivid memory as did the Memorial Peace Park. Thank you so very much Coco for your time, your explanations and story telling. We will never forget this tour in Hiroshima and learning about the resilience of the people living here.

We had a wonderful day with Coco. Whilst she covered the main sites, she also took us to places that were less known that gave us a unique insight into Hiroshima’s past. Her local perspective was very interesting and we came away with a much better understanding of the city and the events surrounding the atomic bomb than we would have had we gone on a large tour. She is so easy to get on with and we highly recommend using her.

We spent two full days touring Hiroshima with Coco and had a truly memorable and enriching experience. On the first day, we visited Miyajima Island, and on the second, we explored Hiroshima’s historic sites, including the Peace Memorial Park. Both days were incredibly well-organized and insightful. Coco is an outstanding guide — warm, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. What stood out most was her thoughtful and clear explanation of Hiroshima’s wartime history. She brought a depth of understanding and sensitivity to the topic that made it accessible, moving, and impactful. Her storytelling gave real context to what we were seeing and helped us connect on a much deeper level. We would absolutely recommend Coco to anyone visiting Hiroshima. She made our time in the city both meaningful and unforgettable.

She revealed much more about Hiroshima than we expected. What an interesting city. Of course the atomic bomb was an important part of the tour and ever present, but there is much more both to the history of the city and its current vibrant resurrection. I highly recommend Coco and this tour.
