Hiroshima is the city where the first atomic bomb used in warfare was dropped and exploded. **9:00** – Meet at Hiroshima Station or the Peace Memorial Museum. * Visit the Atomic Bomb Dome and some of the memorials in the Peace Memorial Park. * Visit the Peace Memorial Museum. * Travel to Kure by highway bus. * Enjoy lunch, such as Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki or Kaigun Curry, a traditional curry associated with the Japanese Navy. * Visit the Yamato Museum (Kure Maritime Museum). * Visit the JMSDF Kure Submarine Museum (Tetsu no Kujira-kan). * Visit Array Karasujima, where you can see Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force submarines and ships up close. *The tour ends at JR Kure Station. **AFTER THE TOUR** You can enjoy a short military port cruise around Kure Bay. You can see a wide variety of vessels, including submarines and destroyers of the JMSDF, from close range. The cruise is accompanied by commentary from a former JMSDF member, who will introduce the naval vessels and Kure’s military port.
