Hiroshima Half Day City Tour with Government Licensed Guide

Michi was an excellent tour guide for my wife and me when we visited Hiroshima last week. Without asking, she knew to give us space to be able to absorb key galleries in the Peace Museum, and she helped us better understand the vast scope of the destruction caused by the Atomic Bomb.

Michi is a fantastic tour guide. Michi was waiting for the 4 of us (and holding a sign with our name) when we got off the cruise ship. The weather was a little rainy but Michi worked around things. The tour uses public transport (tram and bus) although you could also use taxis. We had no problem using the public transport as it gives you a better feel for the city. We visited a garden and then the dome and peace park (including a few smaller and interesting areas). Michi is very knowledgeable and her English is excellent. We never felt rushed and Michi explains a range of things concerning the city generally as well as the specific areas being visited. We finished the tour close to the general shopping area and, as it was raining, 2 of us decided to go back to the ship by taxi and Michi explained to the taxi driver in Japanese where to take us. The remaining 2 of us wanted to have something to eat and do some shopping and Michi took us to the shopping area and suggested a place to have lunch which was full of locals and it was delicious but not expensive food. It was the sort of restaurant which you would never find by yourself. Michi is an interesting, positive and excellent tour guide. We strongly recommend engaging Michi if you are going to Hiroshima.

Michi was wonderful and full of great information. She showed us a few sites that we certainly would have missed and allowed us time to read and explore the Peace museum at our pace. Wonderful guide and definitely recommend!

We loved Michi! She arrived early at our meeting spot and provided us with a visual overview of the tour she had planned. We quickly got on our way and were happily surprised by how much we accomplished in Hiroshima in 4 hours! With grandparents who were in the greater Hiroshima area during World War 2, she provided background information that really helped set the stage for the museum. We were in awe of the exhibit and the resilience of the Japanese people through their accounts. This day was meaningful and will have a lasting impact on our lives.

We had a half day Hiroshima Tour with Michiru in mid Sept 2025, and she was an excellent tour guide. We really felt she knew what it meant to have grown around the City in the last 80 years and was able to provide a deep insight to Hiroshima that others would not have done. She was very warm, organised and kind. I would recommend for sure.

We had two wonderful tours with Michi-san. She did a great job of organizing the tour, educating us, and keeping it interesting and fun. We had a younger person in our group that needed breaks for things like ice cream. She understood our needs and made sure everyone was happy. We highly recommend her.
