If you are visiting Hiroshima and Miyajima Island, we highly recommend hiring Coco as your tour guide. She is highly knowledgeable and offers a unique perspective. We had a full day planned and we ended seeing even more sites than we expected. Coco tailored the day to meet our interests and likes. The history is this part of Japan is unique, and Coco's perspective and background make her an excellent choice if you are looking for a local guide.

Coco was a fun, energetic and knowledgeable local guide in the Hiroshima/Miyajima area. It was clear she knew the best way to get around and kept us moving at the pace we wanted. She also knew the best photo ops! She was able to pivot quickly when we wanted to spend additional time at different locations. It was very easy to communicate with Coco prior to our tour and I felt very confident in making the booking. Highly recommend!

Coco S. was an amazing tour guide. She was in touch with us for months before our tour, helped us decide what to see, and guided us through the planning process. On the day of the tour, we met at the Hiroshima train station (we were coming from Osaka). She was literally waiting with a sign as we stepped off the train. We did hire a driver to help us get to places with ease. This allowed us to see more sites, which was especially nice in the scattered rain showers, and let us keep personal belongings in the car, so we did not need to carry bags all day. Among the several sites we visited, we spent much of our time at the Atomic Bomb Dome, the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, and the surrounding monuments. There were a lot of school students visiting as well, which added to the experience, considering how many children (some singing near the Children's Peace Monument) were affected by the aftermath of the Atomic Bomb. This was emotional to say the least, and I am glad that our children got to see this area in person. It was challenging to grasp the enormity of what happened. Coco was very informative, kept us on target, but at our pace. She was able to explain many things about the history, much of which we did not know prior to visiting. There is only so much we can learn in school or from a book. Being on-site is a whole different experience. She also found an amazing restaurant for lunch with vegetarian and gluten-free options. After lunch, we went to Miyajima (Itsukushima) Island and decompressed by petting deer and enjoying the scenery. She was very kind and helpful, and even got us to the stadium on time for a baseball game (Carp). We all really enjoyed spending the day with Coco. She provided a perfect tour!

Coco was a terrific guide! First, she took us to a school to give us an overview of the Hiroshima bombing. Visiting the school gave us such a wonderful perspective before going to the Peace Memorial.
