Ciao everyone! My name is Natalia and I am 100% Roman, born and grew up in this wonderful and vibrant city, in a neighborhood close to the Vatican area where I live with my family. Since I completed the high school I decided to concentrate my studies to the art and archaeology. After my degree in Art History I specialized on Italian Renaissance Art and spent some years of working as museum educator in ancient Roman sites and museums like the Borghese Gallery. In 2008 I began working as tour coordinator for big companies, and in 2010 I passed the examination and got the tourist guide license issued by the Roman Tourism Board/Council. I like arranging and doing personalized tours for groups and schools from Italy and different countries, but mainly for individual clients tailoring every part according to their needs. Often my guests are families or the not-so-youthful travelers, and I really like sharing with them my favorite corners, where to find secret treasures or also family-run restaurants or the best gelato places. I was born in Rome, very close to the Vatican area, of which I will let you discover all the secrets! The Vatican Museums are a huge complex of different buildings which contain one of the world's greatest art collections, culminating in the Sistine Chapel known for its incredible decoration and Michelangelo's frescoes. The Vatican Museums are an enormous complex composed of more than two dozen distinct collections. Based on my guiding expertise, I have designed this itinerary so that you do not miss anything! The tour includes galleries and rooms filled with Greek and Roman marble statues, precious relics such as imperial sarcophagi and priceless tapestries. The Gallery of the Geographical Maps is one of this tour's highlights. We will see the wonder of wonders: the Sistine Chapel. Then we will descend into the Saint Peter's Basilica, the house of the masterpieces such as the Michelangelo Pietà and the Baldacchino by Bernini.
We toured the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica with Natalia and it was incredible. Natalia’s background in art history allowed her to provide much needed context for all the works we saw which gave us a much deeper appreciate for the masterpieces. We are not normally art people, but Natalia’s excitement throughout the tour kept us engaged and excited for every gallery we saw. This was a superb tour during which Natalia navigated through the complexities of the Vatican Museums and Dome of St. Peter's. It built beautifully on what we learned the previous day in Natalia's tour of Ancient Rome.
