Overview of your Rome tour
I was born and raised in Rome and I am very fond of art history and especially of the Roman era. I love living in Rome because every single corner, every single stone speaks of thousands of years! On this tour we will discover together some of the best sites in Rome - the Colosseum, Palatine Hill with its Emperor Houses, the Victor Emanuel Monument and many more. Do you know why one of these sites is called the "Wedding Cake"? Let's find out together. My favorite place in town and which I keep in my heart more than the others, is the Pantheon where about 14 years ago I met the person who would later become my wife!
Your Rome tour itinerary
- I will pick you up at Civitavecchia Port in front of the ship to drive you to Rome (1hr20). - Once in Rome the first stop will be the Colosseum: you can visit it inside OR take a tour of the Catacombs. - From the Colosseum we will keep driving to Aventine Hill where we will stop for a nice view to Palatine Hill with its Emperor Houses and the Circus Maximus down below. - We will drive to another of the 7 hills of Rome called Capitoline, where you have a breathtaking view on the Roman Forum, the old city center. - Then we will drive to Venice Square passing by Victor Emanuel Monument, known as the "Wedding cake" for a photo stop and then will arrive at the Pantheon. - We will drive to the most famous fountain of Rome, Trevi. - A stop for lunch (not included in price) in a typical restaurant or free time for lunch on your own. - After lunch will pass the Spanish Steps on the drive to the Vatican Museum and visit the Vatican (closed on Sundays).
