Ciao! My name is Ennio, a real Roman name! I was born and raised in Rome and I've been working as a tour guide for more than 20 years. I'm a fully licensed local guide for Rome and the Vatican city and graduated in art history at Rome university "La Sapienza". I offer all the tours of Rome from the Ancient Rome tour (colosseum, forums, capitol hill), Vatican tour (sistine chapel, vatican museums, st. peter's basilica), Baroque Rome tour (Trevi fountain, Spanish steps, pantheon, piazza navona) to the unbeaten tracks such as the Trastevere area (the real roman district also famous for restaurants, wine bars, cafes) or the Jewish section (an area with 2 thousand years of history). Or if you really are interested in art history I can customize tours focused on the most important artists that have been working in Rome (Michelangelo, Caravaggio, Bernini and Borromini). Upon your request I can customize tours that provide transportation from the port or the airport with a private car and driver, so feel free to contact me and ask questions, i'll be very happy to be your guide and new friend in Rome! So, ci vediamo a Roma!!! fully licensed local guide for Rome and the Vatican city since 20 years.Graduated in art history I am not a driver. I can arrange for a separate car and driver upon your request. I can arrange transportation also from the port and back for shore excursions upon your request.

The Vatican: one of the smallest countries in the world but so full of history and masterpieces. As an art historian specialized in Renaissance art it will be my pleasure to guide you and explain all the details about Michelangelo and Raffaello masterpieces. We'll start the visit from the Vatican museums, one of the first museum in the world to be opened to the public in the late 1700. We will walk through the apartments of the Popes, along the corridors, galleries and courtyards that connected the different areas of the Vatican city. We'll be admiring one of the most important collection of art in the world and you will marvel when you see the most famous masterpieces of Renaissance art: The Michelangelo's "Creation"and "the Last Judgment" during our visit to the Sistine Chapel. We will visit the basilica of St. Peter, a church with 2000 years of history built on top of the tomb of the Saint. It will be a memorable experience something that everyone should visit at least once in their life.

The best guide we’ve ever had! Andy was extremely knowledgeable, well spoken, funny, and personable. He took much time with our group answering every question and infused humor everywhere he could. All participants seemed seemed perpetually engaged in his tour despite the blasting heat and crowds. My wife and I recommend Andy and your tour company 100%!!! Ten out of ten stars!
Outstanding! An outstanding guide to lead you through the ages of Vatican art and history. Enio's tour showcases his great historical knowledge and insights with terrific engaging storyteller skills and a good sense of humor. He provides insights into the artists and Popes who significantly contributed to making the Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel and St Peters Basilica so monumental over the centuries. Enio highlights the history and unique characteristics of the paintings, frescoes, sculptures and fabulous mosaics. We even learned the fascinating story of how Michelangelo came to be chosen to paint the "Creation" and the "Last Judgement" of the Sistine Chapel and about his approach to executing such enormous works. Enio brings it all to life by telling personal stories as well as describing the personalities of the Popes and the artists and how their intersects led to this incredible cultural experience. I highly recommend Enio to be your Vatican guide!
Ennio was spectacular. He was humorous, informative , entertaining and engaging. Highly recommend.
If there is such a thing as the perfect tour guide, Ennio is the one. Not only is he fully knowledgeable about the subject matter, but he also presents it in a very engaging manner. He is conversational and has a good sense of humor. We did not ask a question that Ennio wasn't fully prepared to answer. When we return to Rome, we will definitely ask him to guide us in other areas. We highly recommend him.
This was the first time ever to book with Tours By Locals, and we were thrilled. Ennio has been guiding tours throughout the area, not just Vatican City, for almost 30 years. Ennio's knowledge, energy and skill made for a smooth tour filled with so much information. He fielded our questions with confident knowledge. He fielded every oddball question with encyclopedic charm. We recommend Ennio, for absolutely any tour he offers. Thank you, Ennio. Our family loved spending some of precious time in Italy with you. ~ Betty
