Colosseum and Ancient Rome: Half-Day Private Tour (Arena optional)

We absolutely loved our Colosseum and Ancient Rome 1/2 day Tour with tour guide Pietro Paolo through Tours By Locals! Pietro was excellent! Our group size was 4 which worked out well. Pietro spoke very good english and was easy to understand . His knowledge of the Colosseum, Roman Forum & Palatine Hill was excellent! He had a lot of interesting facts that brought the history to life! He maneuvered us to places that made the best use of our time and was patient with our mobility allowing for rest when needed. His knowledge of history and religion was excellent! We definitely recommend this tour!

Our guide, Paolo, was able to secure arena floor and underground tickets for our Colosseum tour. He was punctual, and made sure he was meeting our needs and tailoring the tour to our interests along the way. It was evident that he has a passion for Rome and for history. We thoroughly enjoyed our day.

It was very hot the day we went to the Coloseeum. Pietro worked with us to keep us in the shade whenever possible. He was able to secure us the underground tickets and then went to the forum. Pietro has a deep understanding and love of the history in Rome. He enjoys sharing his passion with others!

Paolo was a fabulous guide and we really enjoyed our tour with him. His depth of knowledge on Ancient Rome, the Colosseum, Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum was astounding and he was genuinely interested in sharing that knowledge and helping us to understand and visualise life during the Roman Empire. His use of the IPad to contextualise the ruins we were looking at was fantastic. I would 100% recommend him as a guide. We had a great day!

Very informative tour. Engaging for kids. The heat, unfortunately, took out a few members of our party who departed early. Pablo was kind enough to wrap it up faster for those who completed the tour.
