Hello everyone, my name's Paolo and I'm an archaeologist and a licensed tour guide. I was born in Forlì, a small picturesque city located in Northern Italy - not far from Bologna. And it was there, in my childhood, where I took my first steps in the world of archaeology, going with my friends in search of fossils and other ancient objects. I graduated at the University of Bologna obtaining a degree in Cultural Heritage, then I completed the postgraduate school in Classical Archaeology at the University of Padua, then I moved to Rome. I never quit studying and improving my knowledge as a professional archaeologist working on field and research so I also a got a Phd in Classical Archaeology at the Ludwig Maximilians Universität of Munich (Germany), wonderfull experience! To follow my passion and my job I have lived in several cities in Italy and Greece, such as Rome and Pompeii. Since 2009 I have enjoyed living and working in Castellammare di Stabia too, a quaint maritime town near Pompeii - where you could say I have "landed" and remained ever since. I'm lucky to be responsible of the Roman site of Stabia for directing and coordinating excavations and restoration projects, teaming up with archaeologists and restorers from all over the world. I have also been a licensed tour guide of the Campania Region and Vatican city and Colosseum since 2014, so when I'm not involved with excavation work, I love to share my time and my knowledge with students, art lovers and tourists showing them the archaeological and artistic treasures of this enchanting corner of Italy. Now I live and work in Rome as I feel like it's my native city and always fascinated with the Ancient Rome since I was a child. The Ethernal city is absolutey magic in every its corner. I specialized in Roman archaeology and Rome it's my hometown where I feel home 100%. I look forward to showing you the best ones and live an amazing experience together exploring the best. What else can I say? I'm waiting for you here to spend some unforgettable days together! I graduated at the University of Bologna obtaining a degree in Cultural Heritage and then I completed the postgraduate specialization in Classical and Roman Archaeology at the University of Padova. I have a PhD in Classical Archaeology at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, Germany. Due to Italian rules, I'm licensed to guide you inside museums, archaeological areas, cities. I'm not a licensed driver. For tours including private transportation my associated professional driver will be at your disposal.

A day trip out of Rome is what you need? Don't miss the chance to visit two of the most beautiful places in the Campania region: Pompeii and Positano! I will pick you up at your accommodation in Rome and straight to Pompeii for our wonderful tour inside the ruins. The most famous eruption of Mount Vesuvius took place in the year 79 AD, when the volcano buried the ancient Roman city of Pompeii - together with many others - under a thick carpet of volcanic ash. With this tour we'll see the city, frozen in time, in its last moment. I used to live and still work there as professional archaeologist for many years, every corner is magic and incredibly well preserved. I'll show you the best highlights and tell about how Roman used to live, feeling like wandering in a city still alive. After Pompeii, we'll move to Amalfi coast, stopping inPositano, known as the pearl of the Amalfi Coast, with wonderful views and picturesque medieval alleys. literally stunning!
