Hi there! I'm Barbara, born and raised in Rome, just a few feet from the Vatican City, I love to travel the world and explore different cultures! With a degree in Architecture and a master degree in Historical Building Restoration, I have been studying architecture and art history for all my life, working for several years to the restoration of some of the most prestigious palaces in Rome. I decided to become a Tour Guide to share my lifetime experience in Rome with people from all over the world. I'm really proud to unravel the amazing stories hidden behind every alley and square of the Eternal city, bring back to life the outstanding Roman ruins, show the masterpieces made by the most important artists working for the powerful Popes and communicate my passion and true love for my Hometown, like only locals can do! All of my tours are private and can be tailored according to you interests and wishes, so just give me the details and I will create the perfect tour just for you! I hope to welcome you soon to Rome. . . A presto! Follow the steps of the Apostle Paul during his last days in Rome. On this tour you will learn about the Mamertine prison, considered the most ancient jail of the world, where St Peter and St Paul were imprisoned for almost nine months before being executed. Then we'll move to the outskirts of the Eternal city to visit the Tre Fontane (Three Fountains) Abbey, raised on the spot where St. Paul was beheaded by order of Emperor Nero in 67 A.C. Finally we will reach the outstanding Papal Basilica of Saint Paul outside the Walls, originally built by the Emperor Constantine upon the tomb of the Apostle Paul, and where, today, its stunning Gothic canopy, miraculously survived to the big fire in 1823, still treasures the mortal remains of St Paul.
